INTRODUCTION

As I walked through my garden yesterday, I was met with a mix of feelings- excitement and disappointed, pride and anger. My yams, carefully planted and nurtured, were finally ready for harvest. But, to my shock and surprise, I discovered that thieves had already started helping themselves to my crop which I so angry about.

The Discovery

The sight of dug-up holes and missing yams strike instant anger within me. All the hard work, sweat, money and dedication that went into planting and nurturing those yams seemed to be to be wasted. I felt molested,as if someone had intruded upon my personal space. The thought of strangers reaping the benefits of my labor was so painful

The Decision

Without wasting of time, I decided to harvest all the remaining yams from the farm. It was a quick decision, driven by a determination to protect my yam and atleast reap the rewards of my efforts to which I invested . As I dug up the yams, I felt a sense of satisfaction and relief.

The Impact

The theft did not only affected me financially but also emotionally. It made me to as question on the safety of my property and the value of my community. However, harvesting my yams brought a sense of closure and enablement.
