Greetings everyone, I'm here once again, to make my entry in this very contest organized by @simonnwigwe on the theme “How I prepare for an examination”

How do you prepare for an examination?

In life, every student has their ways in which they feel is very much comfortable for them to prepare for exams. As for me, I have written numerous exams and I always use the same method in preparing for exams. I don't prepare for exams on the first week of the exams, what I usually do is read ahead, after each lecture I usually go to school to digest what the lecturer thoughts us for that day, because I usually make my reading timetable according to our class timetable.

Mostly, when the exam timetable is out I will drive out another timetable according to the school timetable, and with immediate effect, I will start studying till the day of the exams. I read twice a day except for Sundays, I go to class in the morning by 5:00 am I will read till noon then I will go back to my room, take my bath, and eat some good food after which I will rest my head for some hours. Then in the evening, I will go back to class by 7:30 pm to read, then go back home by 12:30 pm.

When I'm preparing for exams, I make sure that am always free from anything that will distract me, I do give in my best, then live the rest to the creators once I am tired I always go back home to rest. Lastly, I always pray for God's guidance each day.

Do you have any trick that you have developed over time that works perfectly for you?

The only trick I used is to study hard, but while reading I always make sure that I set exams questions for my so that I will test my ability after im done studying and that has been very helpful to me because sometimes the questions which I will set to test myself it will still come out during the exams. Which will make my work easier on the exams day.

Another thing I do is cramming, I know some people will say it's not good to cram but in most cases, it's good because some lecture will want a student to give them an answer according to what he gave in the class. Back then some lecturers will say “the making scheme is always righteous” meaning if your answer doesn't correspond with that of the making scheme you end up getting a zero or half mark in each of the questions you will answer. So i always take my time to ask a question about each lecturer then I will know how to study their subjects.

When is your favorite time to study for an examination and why?

My favorite time is in the morning, from 5:00 am to 12 noon. Because at the early hours of the day, the weather will be so cold, everywhere will be calm, most people will be sleeping by then. If I take my coffee my brain will be refreshed and anything I will study by that time will stick to my head and I won't forget it easily.

Do you feel scared when going in for exams? How have you been able to control or fight this feeling?

Yes, that was when I went to the university the story people usually tell about University back then is very scary, especially during exams. But I come to realize that the fear will not allow me to answer the questions well even if I know the answers before, but I kept fighting it not until I meet a friend who was always observing me anytime we are writing exams, sometimes my hands will be shaking.

But since he told me some basic things on how to overcome fear, I work on myself then I was not more scared again. My performance for the second year was far better than that of first year.

What advice do you have to give to those who still find it difficult to prepare for an exam?

While my advice to those who find it so difficult to prepare for exams is for them to pray and ask God for guidance because it's not normal for someone not to prepare for exams probably that person have engage himself in something that he can't go a day without it. Second, they should try to make good friends who are serious about their studies in that way they will be motivated to read when seeing their colleagues studying.

Above all, they should work on themself because manners will never come down from heaven to assist them, as it is being said, heaven helps those who help themself. So they should work on there self and always remember the reason why they are in school.

I invite @mjerry @ishayachris and @adanism to come and take part in the contest.
