The day started off with a trip to get a photo of an eagle that sits atop a train bridge that crosses the Dakota river. I headed out onto the tracks in the hopes of my prize.
Unfortunately, a fog had settled in, obscuring the birds that perch on the railings of the bridge. I was hopeful that I would still be able to get the picture.
Success! I had gotten a picture of a Bald Eagle resting atop the bridge. It wasn't much of an accomplishment and the weather was atrocious for photography but there she was.
Time to head back to my horse. I think I'll head down to the river and try to catch a few fish for breakfast.
Man this fog is really unsettling. It's playing tricks on me. Every few moments I keep thinking I see a train come around the bend out of the fog. In fact, I can almost feel the rumbling of it too. Hey... wait a minute...
Tarnations! It wasn't a trick. There truly was a train barreling down upon me. Jumping off the train bridge here would mean certain death. My only hope was to run back and try to jump into the river. It should be deep enough. I hope.
This was it, I had run out of time. I had to bail over the side or I would end up a red paste on the underside of the iron beast.
Avanti!
Oh no! I hadn't made it far enough. I was to be dashed amongst the rocks. My fate was sealed.
And now you know how I ended up in this predicament.
