Skate or die is a video game that was published in 1998 by Konami-Industries under license from Nintendo. This video game was developed by Ultragames which is a trademark of Ultrasoftware. Skate or Die is a sports video game with some action elements, which has Skateboarding as its main theme.
In this game you will play a skateboarder who has to work his way up in the ranking of the best skateboarders in the area. The game has several styles of competition such as: Race, HighJump, Free-Style, Jam and Joust.
The Training.
The first thing you must do is go directly to the practice mode, because if you go first to the skate tournament you will not prosper buddy Sk8er.
a) Ok, by selecting the practice mode, you will appear outside the Skateshop riding your skateboard. Then use the directional arrows on your controller and go to any of the streets that lead to the different styles of competition, such as: Jam, race, joust, freestyle, and highjump.
b) For me, you should start from left to right, so that you try to master the Joust style first. One thing I would warn you, is that for me, this is the hardest style and most likely you will end up not liking it as much, as this style is based on a kind of padded spear fight in a pool against another skater. The goal is to take down the other competitor three times, whoever manages to do it first wins. Each will hold the spear for 5 seconds, alternating turns between the two competitors. When you have the padded spear is when you will have to intercept the trajectory of the other skater to knock him down, and when he has it, you will be the one who will have to prevent him from intercepting you.
c) After practising in Joust, he continues with Race, which, by the way, is my favourite style. This style is all about slalom downhill, for which I suggest you start by selecting the goofy foot option, as this is the most intuitive option when it comes to accelerating, steering and braking. Watch out for obstacles, as the board has to accelerate very quickly, which makes it more difficult to steer the skateboard. Try many times until you achieve very low times.
d) The Freestyle mode it's very simple on the objectives, you only need to Use the U and try to make the best quantity of tricks possible, like 360°, 540° etc. But be careful, landing on the board by taking a lot of momentum is the most difficult to master, and to do this, you have to give direction with the arrow keys to the skateboard before landing on the U, after a high jump.
e) Highjump mode is the easiest mode of all, here you just need to get as much momentum as you can in order to jump as high as possible and record the highest score you can. Use the boost button to accelerate the skateboard very quickly.
f) Jam style is the most fun of all the available modes, combining skateboarding, action and slalom. In Jam mode you will face directly against another skater, who will do everything possible to get before you to the finish line, and when I say everything possible, I mean to use force if necessary, so I recommend you to be very attentive to the other competitor, as it can throw kicks and punches to make you fall and get before you to the finish line. The good thing is that you can also use kicks and punches against the other competitor, for this you can use the action button that you have assigned in your command settings.
See you on the Streets Sk8er.

Hey, I remember this game! I think there was also a skateboard game called ‘720’ that came out about the same time. Oh, and ‘California games’ featured a half-pipe section, along with frisbee throwing, surfing, rollerblading and BMX riding.
