Fall Guys, a recently released battle royal where you play as jellybeans and try to qualify till the end of the game where only one can win.
Fall Guys was made with such a simple idea in mind, but it exploded in popularity. Lets dig deeper into that, most battle royal games at the moment have been out for a long time. For example fortnite and PUBG have been out for a while now and I believe that it was getting really stale for players especially streamers. As you know fortnite streamers have a lot of popularity and a huge fan base. I've personally played Fall Guys and honestly the game is not worth its price. I feel as if everyone will forget about it in a week. But when it first game out streamers such as Tfue and TimTheTatMan have brought a huge fanbase to the game.
Back to the main thing, Fall Guys is such a simplistic game with 4-5 tasks each game that you must complete. The reasoning behind why its so popular is because they waited till the most popular games had gotten stale for some time so people would basically throw money at anything intriguing which is a valid marketing tactic. Overall if someone else could make a game like that and wait for the right opportunity they could make a lot of money. If you are looking for a recommendation as well, I would say wait for a sale on the game due to the fact that it definitely isn't worth its price and it may get stale after 1-2 weeks.
