Good afternoon people. I'm here to write you a new review. Today it will be the turn of a fighting game called Brawlhalla.
Brawlhalla is a F2P game on Steam that could be considered a good replacement to Super Smash Bros (for those of us who don't have a Nintendo console or emulator), this game has already a good time in the market and has been maintained with a very good base of players, at the moment of this review it has 20 thousand active players (source: steamcharts). This game has several game modes both casual and a Ranked mode, for the most competitive.
This game can be played both online and offline, including a mode for more than one player to play on the same pc, using keyboard, controller or steamlink, also thanks to its light weight (if I'm not mistaken it doesn't even reach 2gb) and minimum requirements, it is able to be played on most current computers
Well, this all sounds very nice, but what's the game about... Brawlhalla is a multiplayer fighting game, with 2D cartoon graphics, where we'll choose a character with unique skills and weapons, and we'll be put in a platform scenario where we'll have to fight with other characters, either using the skills of each character and weapons, items that will be dropped randomly like bombs, mines, spiked balls, etc. Our mission, in the classic mode, consists of throwing or flying the enemy from the arena, but you have to be careful, the more damage you receive, your character will be easier to be eliminated from the sand and the hits will push you further away.
The good stuff:
- Constant updates where they add new characters, at this moment we can use, besides the original characters of the game, characters like Rayman or Stevonnie from Steven Universe
- A fast, simple, but at the same time complex game because of its mechanics and combos
- Good mobility, feels fluid and characters respond well to controls, whatever type of control you use (keyboard, steamlink, control)
- Ranked mode for the competitive and Modes to play offline or with friends in the house
- Simple but striking and colorful graphics
- Lightweight
The bad:
It's hard to find anything wrong with this game but it still has some shortcomings from my point of view:
- It costs to get the game currency to buy new characters
- It's more fun when playing with friends, the solitaire mode can sometimes be a little boring
- It has no story mode if someone was looking for a background story (not a bad thing, but someone might be interested)
- Sometimes there are ping problems, they are minimal but it can happen
- Bots are fairly easy to beat
Summary:
Brawlhalla is a game worth trying, and for those of us without a Nintendo system or emulator, it's a great replacement for Smash Bros and is a good way to get through quarantine and not get bored
ZeroPoints : 8.5/10
I hope you have a very good day and thank you for reading
PS: I have to add that soon we will be able to see a mobile version of the game for Android and iOS
