Hello Steemians, how are you today? I hope you are all fine as I am. I want to thank @shahariar1 and the Steem of Animals for organising this contest. Today, I want to draw a Giraffe and I am sure that you will like it.

What is a Giraffe
A giraffe is a large hoofed mammal. It has a very long neck and legs. It is the tallest living terrestrial animal on earth.

Feeding
Giraffe are herbivoures in nature. They primarily feed on leaves and twigs of acacia. They eat alot.

Lifespan
Giraffes can live as long as 25 years.

Habitat:
Giraffes are mostly found in African savannas, grasslands and woodlands.

Fact about Giraffe

• The giraffe is the tallest animal on earth.
• They don't drink much.
• They sleep while standing up
• They use their head for fighting
• They are fast and dangerous
• The giraffe's tongue is about 18 inches long.
• Giraffes defend themselves by kicking and this kick can kill a lion!
• A male Giraffe is called a bull while a female is called a cow
• Baby Giraffe are called calves

Materials used for drawing

• Plain A4 paper
• Pencils
• Colours
• Eraser
• Razor blade

Step 1
I began my drawing from the head of the giraffe. I drew the mouth, the face, the horns and the long neck using a 2B pencil

Step 2
Here I drew the back, the forelegs and the stomach of the giraffe using a 2B pencil.

Step 3
I drew the hind legs and the tail of the giraffe using a 2B pencil

Step 4
I shaded the brown mane which is located at the neck. I did that using a brown colour.

Step 5
At this stage, I drew the eyes, the nose and the ear using my 12B pencil. I also draw the patterned coat on the neck of the giraffe using a brown colour.

Step 6
I also drew the patterned coat on the body of the giraffe using my brown colour.

Step 7
Here I applied yellow colour lightly on the parts not covered by the brown patterned coat.

Step 8
At this stage, I coloured the forelegs of the Giraffe using brown and yellow colours. I also coloured the powerful hooves using a pencil

Step 9
At this stage, I coloured the hindlegs using a brown and yellow colour and I also coloured the powerful hooves using a 12B pencil. Lastly, I coloured the tail of the Giraffe using brown colour and the tail tuft using a 12B pencil.
