As I promised Khalif, during the school vacation I would take him to visit a crocodile park, I thought it would be a very interesting experience, not only for Khalif but also Kahfi and Keenan, they would really enjoy it.

The place we want to visit is located at Jalan Bunga Raya II Number 8, Asam Kumbang, Kec. Medan Selayang, Medan City, North Sumatra. The distance we had to travel was approximately three hours from the border of Aceh Tamiang with North Sumatra.

When we got there, I could see workers renovating some of the facilities in the park from the outside. The entrance ticket costs 20,000 Rupiah (6.6 Steem) for one adult and for children over six years the entrance ticket price is 10,000 Rupiah (3.3 Steem), so with a personnel composition of five people we paid a total of 50,000 (16.6 Steem).

Entering the area inhabited by the crocodiles, we first saw the cages, which were fenced with harmonica wire. The cages are specifically divided for crocodiles that are relatively close in age, such as there are cages for crocodiles aged 4 to 6 years old and there are also cages for crocodiles aged 10 to 19 years old. We were able to see the crocodiles and their activities up close, but had to maintain a safe distance, especially when bringing children.

The children were very enthusiastic despite the scorching sun, they were happy to see a crocodile opening its mouth, clearly visible sharp teeth lined up in its long mouth. Khalif moved from one cage to another, Kahfi followed him and Keenan didn't want to be left behind either.

After seeing all the cages, I took them to a more interesting spot, the crocodile aquarium. Climbing down the stairs, we entered a pool area containing adult crocodiles of various sizes. Bounded by a glass wall, we could see the green water with crocodiles in it. I felt an unusual sensation, because it felt like my family and I were being monitored by the crocodiles for entering their territory, there was a bit of fear too.

There was a moment when the biggest crocodile we saw moved slowly into the pool of water, then it dived and had no idea where it was going, we were all curious and wondering. All we could see were bubbles and small waves from the water, not long after that a pair of round eyes emerged from the water followed by a long mouth, my wife and children and I focused our attention, and finally the biggest crocodile was seen, he appeared right and very close to where we were sitting, where between us and the crocodile was only separated by a glass wall.

A great experience was had at this crocodile park which is reportedly the largest in Southeast Asia, I highly recommend steemians to come here and experience the thrill of being in the same location with the crocodiles and observing each other.
