After a couple of weeks my daily walk took me back to the place where I always find animals. But actually, this time I was really trying to catch a glimpse of the alligator that is now confirmed lives there. A friend of mine was able to take a video of this guy crossing the road. But the video was at night, this beast probably doesn't come out in the daytime.
So I had to accept the fact that I only saw two animals today, a cormorant and a squirrel. There wasn't even a single turtle around. Well sometimes I get lucky and find all kinds of animals around here, today was not that day. One thing though, neither the cormorant nor the squirrel showed any fear of me I got up quite close and they did not try to escape. Perhaps they are used to phones nowadays.
This is the coolest one I got, because you can see the cormorant and you can just barely see the squirrel on the right hand fork on the tree. My phone just can't take too large an area and this was the best I could do.
You know, squirrels were not that common around here before the pandemic, you hardly ever saw one. But these days they are all over town. Every day I can see a few of them walking on the power lines, going from place to place. at the park where I spend parts of my morning, there are several almond trees and there are usually a couple of squirrels eating almonds, funny thing is they just eat the green ones, ripe ones they pelt at you.
I guess I will go one night to try and catch a picture of that alligator, thing is this area is a hot spot at night so I am kind of wary of going at that time.
