Visiting a Cattle Ranch

I went out of town for the weekend, to a smaller city about 150 KMs. away, where I have a lot of friends as that is where I finished high school. Well I met up with one of my friends and he invited me to go to a small cattle ranch a few KMs. out of town. I have to admit I was not thrilled by this, as I have not had good experiences with cattle, to be frank I am quite afraid of them. Plus cattle ranches are not extremely clean, they smell funny and you can step on things you don't even want to know what they are.

But I accepted anyway and went with my friend, the place is quite well kept, it is not a large farm, I only saw somewhere around 100 head of cattle including the younger guys. At least those were what were in the stables. Once there this guy insisted I go in the stables with him to check on some of the animals but that got a very insistent no from me, I stayed outside and took a few pictures. Now I got bored of this mighty quick, I mean after five minutes of standing on what I hopefully think was mud I wanted to get out of there.

But no, my buddy took all the time in the world looking at these cows, I was actually thinking of walking back to town, maybe a half hour walk, but I took into account that there might be ticks so I stayed put. Finally my friend was ready to leave and I gave a sigh of relief, but just when we were in town he remembered he had to look at some hogs that were also on the ranch and told me he was going back. I of course told him no way, and asked him to drop me off. I guess I am a city person all the way, because I also don't like going out in a boat.
