God created the animals for us to enjoy them, he made them for our benefit, his principles allow us to kill animals for clothing, food and sometimes to protect ourselves from harm in case of snakes etc. However, we need to strike a balance in a way that Exercises dominion over animals, We should treat animals in a way that shows respect for life because animals are not disposable items that we can discard at will.

The expression means we should always show kindness to animals, taking proper care of them, God required that we return a stray animal to the owner, and we shouldn't steal the animal as some people have the habit. We should help animals in distress, generally, we shouldn't maltreat animals, they should not be exploited rather they are to be cared for and guarded.

I was taught that good people treat animals with kindness and seek to know their needs, but on the other hand, wicked people love animals by mouth but in reality are cruel, their actions normally prove their selfish motives. We see this in the case of those who pit One animal against another in hopes of winning money. The inhumane treatment of animals will not continue forever God will stop all the unnecessary suffering and will do away with cruel and wicked people. Soon there will be a peaceful condition for both humans and animals.

Just yesterday one of the movies I was seeing showed how all eyes were on two roosters, the white and the other red. The crowd were roaring as the white rooster with a sharp blade strapped to its leg delivered a blow to the red rooster, The referee picked up the 2 roosters, and the red one was limp and bleeding to death.😭

That was maltreatment, Why do men pit animals against one another, all in the name of sport with gambling being the driving force, It's not just right. Though I've not seen this in my locality before, yet animals are suffering from the neglect of their owners, they're not properly cared for, some are not well fed, and they are left on the street to cater for themselves.

No, there's no legislation that regulates human action towards animals in Nigeria but there's a general law that kicks against cruel acts. Though we don't have a stand-alone law regarding Animal welfare, our criminal code prohibits animal cruelty since animals can suffer both physically and mentally.

Other laws protect certain categories of animals, for example, those used for draught purposes, The law forbids overload and overworked, and there's a national ban on animal fights.
Then we have the Animal Disease Control Act and this law was provided for farm animals, it limits stocking density during transportation to ensure good ventilation.

As I stated before our concern is that there's no singular act to prevent animal cruelty, for example, there should be a law that clearly states that if you abandon your pet or maltreat your animal, you'll pay a fine or sentence to so-so terms of imprisonment.

Don't be part of the cruelty, be a righteous man, don't hurt them, show them kindness!
