Going through the list of contest today, I saw this very contest that got my attention and I decided to share my thought on the said topic. I hope you will read till the end.

Do you have any livestock at home? Tell about them.

As a student, I don't have any livestock where I'm schooling at the moment but we have livestock (poultry farm) at home. My mum always keep this bird and then care for them until maturity where she sell them off to people for consumption.

She buy this birds when they are a day old and then she will start from that period to take care of them until they are matured and ready for consumption. Anytime I'm home, I join here to take care of the birds.

I always clean their room every morning and then give them food and water atleast 3 times daily. Most of the birds we keep are broilers and layers because we also supply eggs to a few customers. Indeed it's a nice business which after my studies if I have the resource I will go into it.

What benefits do livestock and birds give us?

There are lots of benefits that we gain from livestock and birds and that is the main reason I have said earlier that after my school, if I have good capital I will start the business.

Before coming back to school, I needed some money and my mum hurridly sold about 10 of her birds which she used some of the money to get me the necessary things I needed in school and also she gave me some part of the money to use here in school.

Also aside the monetary aspect of this livestock, you can use it for food as well. The birds produces eggs which can be consumed or sold to earn more money. Having birds around helps you to less expensens of buying meat at all time and also buying eggs.

So the benefits of keeping a livestock can never be looked down upon. I will suggest anyone who has good capital to go into the business after discussing with expert for direction.

Cattle rearing provides wealth to the family. Express your opinion.

Those with cattle here are called big men and women because cattle here is very expensive and rearing it means you have the capital. It provides wealth to its owner because anytime they sell this cattle for meat, they sell them with high amount of money.

Also, some of the cattle produces milk for us and that milk is also use by Companies to make sachet milk which can be export or traded within the country. With all these factors, you will notice that those who have this cattle are really big guys in the land because they control good money.

I want to finally invite @m-fdo, @mesola and @okere-blessing to join the contest.
