Greetings and peace be upon you.
Today my post will be revolving around the dangers of extinction, and it's effects on our environment.

- Express your concern for the extinction of animals. Share your feelings.
What is "extinction?"
Extinct species are the organisms who no longer roam the surface of the Earth, meaning, each and every single last of their types have been destroyed by either Interbreeding, climate, hunting or other reasons.
Some Examples are;
- Dinosaurs
- Wooly Mammoths
- Dodo birds
- Sabertooth cats

A sub-group of extinct species are "Endangered" species.
These are organisms that are predicted to go extinct in near future.
This includes commonly known animals such as;
- Siberian Tiger
- Markhor
- Dolphins
- Pandas
And many others.
Their fate is sealed if no immediate action is took regarding their situation.
There can be various reasons behind this; over-hunting, no proper source of food, climate change and other reasons too. Many types of present animals have already gone extinct such as the "Barbary" Lion, The Bali, Caspian, and Javan tiger are already extinct.
- What steps would you take to prevent animal extinction? Mention at least five steps.
Now the question arises, what steps should be taken to prevent further endangerment of organisms?
Ban on Hunting
Bans should be issued on hunting of specific animals. Pakistan has already put a ban on the hunting of Markhor with a punishment of 3 years of imprisonment, as well as a ban on bear-baiting.
Conservation
Remaining species should be conserved as soon as possible, and their requirements should be met. (Food, Nutritions).
Changing for the better
Temporarily boycotting companies that use harmful substances and objects to experiment on animals.
An example is how companies that generate drinks are now using paper straws instead of plastic, as plastic does harm to Aquatic life, especially Turtles.
Protecting Habitats
Deforestation should be strongly avoided, and more trees should be planted in order to keep a functioning wildlife for animals that live in forests such as Bears, Foxes etc.
Spreading the word
One person cannot make all the difference, but combined a lot of impact can be made.
- Can friendly relationships with animals prevent extinction? Give your argument.
Friendly relationship with non-human organisms can help in certain categories, Aswell as raising awareness. But realistically it cannot directly prevent extinction of animals.
The most important step which can be taken through this is Raising Awareness.
How?
If we take time to observe the behavior of animals, we not only learn but feel a sort of strong connection or bond forming between us, which can lead to public awareness and more.
- Tell me about two animals that are on the verge of extinction.
Two of more endangered animals are the; - Siberian tiger
& - Amur leopards
Siberian Tiger
This big cat species has an estimated 600 subjects left in the entire world, it is one of the bigger Tigris species organisms, as its size is greater compared to other tigers.

They have long tails, ranging to a whopping 1-3 feet. Males weigh 100+Kg's while Females are smaller, growing to about 8 feet, while Males can surpass 10 feet in height.
Amur Leopard
The Amur Leopard is native to Eastern Russia. It is a very beautiful yet endangered species of cats. Although they live in forests, they have a strong adaptation to the cold.
They are incredibly agile.
They only have 100-110 subjects left in the world.

They can grow to as tall as 3.5 or 5.5 feet, weighing only upto 41-50Kg in weight.
An interesting characteristic they possess is that their fur appears paler in winter, while in the summer their fur appears warmer and more orange.
That is it for today.
I hope you found this post interesting and learned something new from it.
All of your support is appreciated.
Thank you.
