Introduction

I saw a write up on Facebook post that said.

Love is an unruly guest. It walks in unannounced and makes itself feel at home.

I completely agree with this statement because when loves comes knocking, it comes from the strangest places you least expected and before you realize it, you are already in love. Even when you make up your mind never to fall in love again after the several heart breaks, love has its way of sneaking through those little cracks.

We are now at the valentine week and @noelisdc decided to host a contest and I’ll be inviting @alexanderpeace, @bonaventure24 and @precious9 to participate.

Are you someone who enjoys giving thoughtful gifts, or do you think details don’t matter?

Let me not lie, I’m clueless when it comes to giving ladies gifts. Sometimes, you watch America movies, where they give a lady just chocolate and flowers, you see the love radiating everywhere feeling really excited but replicate same thing with our Nigerian girls…. Like giving her a DVD of collection of love songs, a beautiful love letter….. they will smile with you that moment, then the next day, they will block you everywhere on social media, bar your calls and thrash your love letters or flowers.

All those thoughtful gifts — love letters sprayed with perfume, a song played softly in background because it reminds me of you, chocolates— worked only when we were in high school but when this ladies are all grown up, every gift has to come with a price tag. So, before giving gift to a lady, I try to seek advice from a fellow woman on the best gift that I’ll give her that will make her say “awwwnnn!!” Nigerian ladies are special species but we love them like that!😊😊

The Most Epic Gift?

I have given physical gifts ranging from gown, shoes, jewelries, phone, watches and I’ve also received some cool gifts from friends in terms of cash gifts, singlets and boxers. But among all this numerous gifts, the best was the “gift of time”. Her undivided, unselfish time. The kind that turns moments into memories.

The Craziest Thing I’ve Done for Love?

One crazy thing I’ve done for love was almost getting killed because of one girl. I travelled all the way from the city with provisions to her apartment around the university campus, to spend the weekend with her. Unknown to me, I wasn’t the only boyfriend. The school guy saw me and her taking an evening stroll, then came to her house with three of his friends to come and beat me up.

I was left with only fork and plastic spoon to defend myself. ThankGod for the intervention of the local vigilantes around the school premises that came to chase them away, those guys would have beaten me like an arm robber.

Am I a Hopeless Romantic?

I can’t really say I’m romantic. There are things that I might do casually, a lady might see it as been romantic. For me, when you love someone, everything including been romantic comes naturally.

Did Cupid’s Arrow Strike?

Yeah. It struck me in high school. I fell hopelessly in love. In fact, I started watching Indian movies just to get inspiration on the type of romantic love letters , I’ll write to her. Once I’m done, I’ll steal my mums perfume and spray it inside the envelope to make it scent. Sometimes, i wonder what i was thinking doing that.

Guess what? in the end, one weed smoker, stole her away from me. This actually proves the theory that ladies love bad guys!

The Ideal Partner?

Well, I’ve never thought of this before but I’ll love my ideal partner to be an understanding partner, also very kind not only to me but to also the kids and everyone around us. A lady that isn’t afraid to weather storms, to walk through fire, to choose me even when the world is easier to face alone. Above all, she must be God fearing.
