Thank you @fendit for the contest. I love to stay active. Life is so interesting for me to be left in the shadows of passivity. I would play with a hungry lion if that is what it takes to stay active. Just kidding, those guys don’t give a damn if all I wish to do is function properly. Alright, here are some simple things I do to stay active:
  1. Praying
  2. Reading
  3. Work out
  4. Having a fresh bath
  5. Meditation
  6. Others

Praying

Of all the things I do to stay active, praying is the ultimate. I barely can do anything in my life without praying. When my knees touch the ground, the man is not the man he was some minutes ago before prayer time. If I must stay active, then I must make out time every day to pray.

Reading

I love reading entertaining and inspirational books. I thought that people who say they don’t like reading are very uninteresting: not until I met some people who don’t like to read, but are fascinating. All the same, I still think the habit of reading helps develop one’s personality. I love to read the Bible because it is a book that has done for me what no other book could dare do. Paul Coelho’s book, “The Alchemist” is one book that has made me stick to reading, hoping someday I would get to stumble upon another book that would have a similar effect on me. Another book that I think those who don’t like to read are missing is “THE ART OF WAR” by Steven Pressfield.

Work-out

Work out is second nature for me. Whenever I am bored or life seems to be a little bit unfair, I hit the gym. The challenge at the gym, to me, can be electrifying. It is therapy. I use to work-out for about 4-5 times a week but because of my recent schedule which is like a necktie to my neck, I have reduced it to just 2 times a week. The gym to me is a priority. Sometimes just looking fit gives me the confidence I need to stay active. I am grateful to God for giving me the hands and feet I need to work out.

Having a fresh bath

Something as ritual as bathing is sometimes everything to me. After the day’s activity, a fresh bath is really reviving. Having a fresh bath always helps keep me alive and sane. I think if I don’t take my bath for about one week, I may get to bite someone. Forgive me but that’s what I think. Anyways I would never do such a thing. I am just trying to stress the impression of bathing on my ability to stay active.

Meditation

I do meditate to stay active but not as much as my brothers in India. Meditation helps me to keep a clear mind and discover some underlying truths about myself, that ordinarily, I wouldn’t. At the place of meditation, the other guy, that is my inner self, exposes my limiting beliefs, strengths, and weakness. Meditation also helps clarifies my goals in life.

Others

Other things I do to stay active are smiling, learning new things, and seeking new avenues to make money. I love to stay funny with friends and family because it keeps me smiling. Sometimes, this is all I need to free myself of stress to stay happy and active. I invest time into learning new things: whatever it is that seems worthy of learning as long as it does not interfere with my moral standards and time for more important things. The last but not the least thing I do to stay active is making some money. Sometimes staying active and making money can be synonymous. Thank you for getting to the end of the post without giving up.

I invite @richben, @peachyladiva, and @chamman to take part in the contest.
