Naming: The only two surahs of the Holy Quran which are named after the words mentioned in the sura or the events described in the sura. Rather, it has been named keeping in view the main purpose of the Surah. One is Surah Fatiha and the other is Surah Ikhlas. This Surah reveals the identity of a true God. The meaning of the word الإخلَاص is to do something sincerely. As it is said: أخلص لله عمله He has sincerely performed his deeds for the sake of Allah. Since the Surah discusses the identity of Allah and Tawheed, the Surah is named إخلَاص. Virtue: Although the Surah is small in size, it is much larger in terms of virtue. Narrated Abu Saeed Al Khudri: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to his Companions: Will any of you be unable to recite one-third of the Qur'aan at night? It became a burden for them. They said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Who will be able to do that to us? Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: (قُلْ هُوَ اللّٰهُ أَحَدٌ) Surah is equivalent to one third of the Qur'an. (Sahih Bukhari H. 5015) That is, if one third of the Qur'an is recited, the virtue that will be obtained by reciting this Surah. Thus, if this Surah is recited three times, the virtue of reciting the entire Qur'an will be found, God willing. Because the Holy Quran has shed light on three issues. Tauhid, Ahkam and Nasihat. In Surah Ikhlas, Tawheed has been given the status of one-third of the Qur'an due to its complete existence. Surah Ikhlas is equivalent to one third of the Qur'an, there are many saheeh hadeeths in this regard. (Ibn Kathir) The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) narrated from Aisha (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that he sent a Companion as the leader of a group of forces. When he was leading the prayers, he would finish the recitation with Surah Ikhlas in every rak'ah. When everyone returned and told the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about it, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Ask him why he did that. When asked, he replied: I love to recite this Surah. Because it has the attributes of the Merciful Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Tell him that Allaah loves him. (Sahih Bukhari H. 7375) Narrated Anas: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: I love this Surah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Allaah will admit you to Paradise because you love this Surah. (Ahmad 3/141, Sanad Sahih.) Abdullah bin Buraidah (R) narrates from his father that he once entered the mosque with the Prophet (SAW). At that time a person was praying and saying du'a. اللهم إني أسألك بأني أشهد أنك أنت الله لا إله إلا أنت الأحد الصمد الذي لم يلد ولم يولد ولم يكن له كفوا أحد "O Allah! I beseech thee by the words that I bear witness that thou art God. There is no true god but you. You are the only one, the self-sufficient, who has not given birth to anyone, has not been given birth and has no equal. ” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: I swear by the One in Whose hand is my soul! This person has asked Allah through Isme Azam. If he asks for this name, he gives it and if he is called by this name, he responds to the call. (Abu Dawood H. 1494, Tirmidhi H. 3465, Ibn Majah H. 3658, Sanad Sahih) Narrated Aisha (R), the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to blow his hands together every night when he went to bed, then He used to recite Falaq and Surah Nas. Then he would massage the body with both hands as much as possible. He first started from the front of the head, face and body. (Sahih Bukhari H. 5018) Shane Nuzul: Narrated from Jabir (R) He said: A villager came to the Prophet (SAW) and said: Describe the lineage of your Lord. Then this Surah was revealed. (Bayhaqi 6/148, Hasan.) Narrated Ubayy bin Kab (R), the polytheists said to the Prophet (peace be upon him): O Muhammad, narrate the lineage of your Lord. Then this Surah was revealed. Everything that is born must die, and everything that dies will be inherited by the next generation. But Allah will not die and He will have no heir. Tafsir: The four characteristics of a true God are discussed in this Surah. He is the only one who is entitled to all the four attributes that can be found in God. These four characteristics are not found in anyone or anything other than Allah alone. Therefore, one should worship Allah alone, excluding all false gods. The first characteristic: The first characteristic of the God to be worshiped will be that he will be single and will have no partner. This feature is nothing but Allah. So here Allah has used the word حَحَد which has no plural or plural. Everything that is worshiped except Allah is man-made and brain-generated thoughts and consciousness. Allah says: (ما تعبدون من دونھ الآ اسمائ سمیتموھآ انتم واباؤکم مآ انزل اللہ بھا من سلطنث ان الحکم الا للہث امر الا تعبدوا الآ ایاھث ذلک الدین القیم ولکن اکثر الناس لا یعلمون) '' He (God), you simply leave Some of the names you are worshiping are the names that your fathers and you have given; God has not sent any proof of this. Only God has the right to rule. He has commanded that you should worship Him alone. This is the true religion, but most people do not know it. ”(Surah Yusuf 12:40) It becomes clear that Ta'ala should be called by the name mentioned only in the Qur'an and Sahih Hadith. The second feature: الصَّمَدُ means that the God to be worshiped will not be dependent on anything. He will be free to accept any food, drink and cooperation of others to meet his own needs. All in all, he is self-sufficient. Therefore, in the commentary of this verse, many commentators including Mujahid have said: الصَّمَدُ Samad is the one between whom there is no emptiness. (Ibn Jarir / 222) This attribute also belongs to Allah alone, so He alone is entitled to worship. The third characteristic: (لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُوْلَدْ) One of the characteristics of a true God is that He does not give birth to anyone. That means he has no wife or children. This is also the only attribute of Allah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): But he has no wife. He is the Creator of all things, and He is the Knower of all things. " (Surah Al-Anaam 6: 101) Allah says elsewhere: (وقالوا اتخذ الرحمن ولداہث لقد جئتم شیئا اداہذ تکاد السموت یتفطرن منھ وتنشق الارض وتخر الجبال ھداہذ ان دعوا للرحمن ولداھؤ وما ینبغی للرحمن ان یتخذ ولداھث ان کل من فی السموت والارض ِّلَّآ َٰتِي الرَّحْمٰنِ عَبْد “ا তারা) “They say, 'The Merciful has taken a son.' That the heavens may be rent asunder, and the earth shall be rent asunder, and the mountains shall be broken asunder, because they bear offspring to the Beneficent Allah. But adopting a child is not good for the merciful! There is none in the heavens and the earth but will come to the Merciful as a servant. ” (Surah Maryam 19: 6-93) Basically, the point is that no one can give birth to or make a true God. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that Allaah said: The children of Adam disbelieve in Me but it is not proper for them. He insults me but it is not appropriate for him either. To disbelieve me means to say: Allah cannot recreate me. Like the first time I was created. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): But is not the second creation easier than the first creation? And to insult me means: He says: I have children, but I am single, unique, self-sufficient, I have no children, no one has given birth to me and I have no one equal to me. (Sahih Bukhari H. 4984, Sahih Muslim H. 206) Fourth feature: The essence, attributes and deeds of a true God will not be equal to anything else. As Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Nothing is like Him, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing”. (Surat ash-Shura 42:11) These four attributes belong to Allah, so Allah alone is worthy of the worship of all creatures; No other idols, gods and goddesses etc. Lessons to be learned from the verses: 1. The virtues of Surah are many. For example, in terms of virtue, this Surah is equal to one third of the Qur'an. 2. Those who really love this Surah will worship Allah alone and rely on Him, and Allah will love them and give them Paradise. 3. The four characteristics of a true God are mentioned in this Surah. And Allah is worthy of all worship. Because the above four characteristics are only in him.
