Mental health describes cognitive, behavioral, emotional well-being and about how people think, feel, and behave. Some are use the term “mental health” to define the absence of a mental disorder. Mental health can affect for the status of daily living, relationships, and physical health conditions. However, this link also works in the other direction. People’s lives, interpersonal connections, and physical factors contribute to mental health disruptions. The Conditions such as stress, depression, and anxiety can all affect mental health and disrupt a person’s life.
Who are in a risk from mental disorders?
A mental illness can make you miserable and it have an ability to cause problems in your daily life, such as at school or work or in relationships. In most of cases, symptoms can be managed with the help of medications and talk therapy (psychotherapy). Most of people have mental health concerns from time to time. But a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when ongoing signs and symptoms cause frequent stress and affect your ability normal function.
We can take Stress, genetics, nutrition, perinatal infections and exposure to environmental hazards also as the factors of mental disorders. Signs of mental illness are depending. Mental illness symptoms can affect emotions, thoughts and behaviors too.
Some of them are-
- Feeling sad and down always.
- Confused and thinking or reduced ability to concentrate their mind.
- Too much of fears or worries, or extreme feelings of guilt
- Mood changes of highs and lows.
- Keep Less attention with friends and activities.
- Significant tiredness, low energy, sleeping problems.
- Detachment from reality, paranoia or hallucinations.
- Inability to struggle with daily problems and stress.
- Difficult to understand and relating to the situations and to people.
- Problems with alcohol or drugs.
- Changes in eating habits and day to day activities.
- Sex drive changes.
- Uncontrollable anger, hostility or violence.
- Suicidal thoughts.
Risk of developing a mental illness.
- By blood relative, such as a parent or sibling
- Stressful life situations (financial problems, a loved one's death, divorce, breakup)
- Ongoing medical condition.
(eg- diabetes) - Brain damage with a result of serious injury
- Over usage of alcohol or recreational drugs.
- A childhood bad history of abuse or neglect.
- Lack of Friends and loving ones.
- Previous mental illness.
How to Prevent?
Find a Health Care Provider or Treatment
Treatments of mental illnesses usually consists with therapy, medication, or a combination of the two. Sometimes some Treatments can be given in person or through a phone or computer (telehealth). It can sometimes be difficult to know where to start when looking for mental health care, but there are many ways to find a provider who will meet your needs.
If you find a potential provider, you can ask a list of questions to decide whether the provider is right for you or not.
