"When you give and carry out acts of kindness, itβs as though something inside your body responds and says, 'Yes, this is how I ought to feel.'" βRabbi Harold Kushner
Most often than not we think gratefulness should only be expressed by the one who receives. However, as I have often said gratitude needs to be a lifestyle. Gratitude should not just be an expression that comes when you have received something favourable.
The world will always be made up of people who have in different measures. When you have more in a specific area it doesn't not make you any better than the other person who has less. So when you have the possibility to be able to give to anyone who has less than you, instead of becoming arrogant that you were able to give, you should rather be grateful to have the privilege to be able to give.
Below are a couple of reasons why you need to be grateful as the giver:
1οΈβ£ ππͺπ§π₯π§ππ¨ππ¨
If givers followed their acts of kindness they would be surprised at the far-reaching effect of their generosity. Still without knowing how they affected other people, they are surprised at the joy they receive from their givingβjoy they anticipated for the recipients, not for them.
They become even more surprised when they discover that their gifts often supply the answers to the prayers of others; that some who notice their kindness are impressed to become givers; that they continue to receive more gifts in multiplied amounts.
It is a surprising cycle of generosity and gratitude which inspires more giving, followed by more expressions of thanks over and over, and all over again.
2οΈβ£ πππ©ππ¨ππππ©ππ€π£
Any cheerful giver knows about the sense of satisfaction and fulfilment they get from their heart. Through the gifts they give, they extend the atmosphere of love, peace and joy. This satisfaction can neither be sold or bought.
More reasons next Sunday.
"Give freely to the world these gifts of love and compassion. Do not concern yourself with how much you receive in return, just know in your heart it will be returned." βSteve Maraboli
There's nothing as bad putting others down because you gave to them at their point of need, or you serve them when they needed you. Many who do this is because they want to draw importance to themselves and show the world how good they are. The one who receives is as important as the one who gives so be thankful for the opportunity to give.
Happy Sunday and remain blessed.
