Beyond the New Security Law

In 1997, Hong Kong was "returned" to China and China became a "one country, two system" nation securing the autonomy of Hong Kong, the financial hub of Asia. Well, that's what it looked like from the outside at least. In 2020, as we all expected to be coming, China passed on the New Security Law which
prohibits citizens of Hong Kong from being protected under the Hong Kong jurisdiction. This means that Beijing is ruling Hong Kong and that Hong Kong lost its autonomy and is now part of the Chinese communist system. It took China 23 years to totally bring Hong Kong under their control by law. What
did Great Britain, America and the UN do? Not much. The rest of the world was just watching while citizens of Hong Kong fought for their freedom.

In my opinion, the next target "country" will be the Republic of China or Taiwan. How will the Republic of China react when China pushes a New Security Law and how long will it take them to surrender or refuse China is anyone's guess. Honestly, I support Hong Kong and the Republic of China with all my heart, but I do not think these two countries can resist against the Chinese government. In case of
the Republic of China, the economic dependency on China is influential enough that it can even change the vote of people during elections. to As much as I hate to say this, one country is already in the hands of China, the other will be soon. My guess is that it won't take as long as Hong Kong.

My next question is which country will be China's target after the Republic of China. I am guessing North Korea. South Korea and America have no time to use their defense expense on politics and
argue about who pays more and who pays less. South Korean politicians do not have much time to argue about how wrong it went the deal between the current president Moon Jae-in's and the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. South Korea has to support the North to lower its economic dependency on China. Of course, under the condition of denuclearization. The survival chicken fight in East Asia started. China, a country that has kept a low profile preparing with patience for years to surrender Hong Kong and the Republic of China, came out eager to enlarge its body even in the midst of the pandemic. China will not stop since it is better off for them to continue for now. America and South
Korea are not so prepared to stop China and the UN is losing its trust in international community. There is no much time for the Korean peninsula until China reaches its hands to North Korea. People have got to start thinking.

I just hope my very personal opinion is all wrong.
