Sticky Mollusk: A Brown Slug (Pulmonata)

in hive-144064 •  7 days ago

I found this slug staying still on a leaf and this gave me good chance to capture from the way I like. As it was under shady spot, I managed to take it away. Although, it is sticky mollusk, it may be also considered as part of the beauty that nature provides that we cant ignore its presence around us. After I passed some attempts, I finally got a few worth sharing pictures. This mollusk is known with sticky and slow and belong to subclass Pulmonata has soft, sticky and slimy bodies. It is generally restricted to moist habitats on land (one freshwater species is known). This slug is large and bulky with long coarse tubercles on the side and back that can be distinguished from mature adults by the presence of lateral stripes and included in the colorless group slug, though very sticky, and it lacks a keel. It is generally seen in any well-vegetated area, including gardens.
