Today I will share the information I know about Bougainvillea along with the charms of flower in my garden and its care. A fire of color is imagined in the gardens of the gardeners during the winter season. Everyone should be impressed by such a fire of Bougainvillea that this should always happen. Red, pink, white, yellow, purple mainly these colors are more visible in the flowers hanging from the gate or roof of the nearby house.

★★Christening- This colorful flower 'Bagan Bilas' is native to South America. Bougainvillea is named after the French discoverer Louis Ottoin de Bougainville. He first discovered this plant in the 18th century in the forests of Brazil. Bougainvillea flowering plant is native to South America. It belongs to the plant family Nyctaginaceae. Botanical name of the flower is Bougainvillea glabra.
But Rabindranath Tagore named this flower 'Bagaan Bilas'.
Rabindranath Tagore has a special reason behind the indigenous name of this interesting exotic flower plant. When this flower was first brought to our country, it was used only to adorn the homes of the elite class of the country. It was then known by the English name Bougainvillea among the elite.
World poet Rabindranath Tagore first saw this flower in the house of a luxurious and elite person. Although the poet was impressed by the color of the flower, he didn't like its English name .Then he mixed the sweetness of his poetic mind and named it 'Bagan Bilas'. As this flower was seen only in the homes of elite and luxurious people then. So he named this Bagan Bilas'.

★★Flower type - It is also called paper flower because of the different colored flowers like colored paper. Besides, it is also known as gate flower due to the fact that it can be placed at the gate of the house. Among them, it has been possible to bloom about 16 colors of flowers including white, red, pink and yellow in our country. Flowers densely held at the tips of all the branches of the tree. The distance from one flower to another is very short. The only woody creeper in nature, this bagan billas has gained worldwide popularity by attracting everyone's attention.This flower can be seen in almost all environments of Bangladesh. Its variegated colored petals surround the flower. The small flowers in the middle of the three sepals are white in color, bell-shaped and small in nature. Bougainvillea has three or six bracts having any of the mentioned colors. Bougainvillea dosen't have any smell.

★★Suitable environment - Ideal temperature for gardening is 30 degrees Celsius. Although a warm climate plant, Bagan Bilas bloom when daylight hours are short and nights are dark.
Winter is the main season for bagan billas. Although its flowers can be seen throughout the year, the flowering season is from winter to spring. Leaves are not visible on the trees at this time. Only flowers and flowers. As if a tree is a huge garden. The specialty of this tree is that one tree makes a whole garden.
★★Diseases- Diseases are very rare in garden luxuries mainly attack by 2 types of insects - needle bug and green fly bug. Soapy water should be sprayed vigorously on the top and bottom of the leaves every 2/3 days until the insect is gone. It is best to remove or kill insects by hand picking when they appear on the tree. By pruning the branches, the tree can be sprayed with fungicide from time to time, it reduces the disease.

★★Propagation- Planting of gardenias can be done easily with root hormones. From April to June, cut branches larger than finger size (4/6 inch) and apply root hormone to the soil and cover with polythene. After 1.5 to 2 months after it leaves the roots, it should be planted in tub or soil. Cuttings should always be selected from the trunk side of the plant.As it is a fast growing tree, the plant begins to flower within a year and branches spread rapidly. The branches are pruned for the beauty of the plant or it can grow up to one hundred feet tall on other supporting trees or poles. Because this flower is popular for its beauty, naturalists have referred to it as an ornamental plant.
