There are plenty of fish in our village Bengal. These fish are very tasty. During the monsoon, the river and pond water overflows into the paddy field, and when the water in the paddy field dries up, all the small fish are caught.
Fish from other sources is not fish grown on farms. This fish grows on its own. Fish are often caught as they swim out from the pond's banks and onto dry land. Fish are manually collected from the nets during daylight hours after irrigating various ponds or places. Most days, folks go fishing. There are times when so many fish are available that it takes more work to eat them all.
No farmer was required to purchase fish from the market at this period. Due to the availability of fish, many people take up recreational fishing.
There are several fish species, including Roopchanda, Coral, Lakshya, Laitya, Knife, Faisya, Rui, Katal, Mrigel, Vetki, Chital, Boal, Shoal, Koi, Shing, Magur, and others, in the sea, rivers, canals, and banks. Fishing is the livelihood of choice for so many people.
We Bengalis cannot fathom a dinner without fish, whether it be fresh or dried. Our diet is complete with fish.
Bangladesh's national fish is called hilsa. Regarding fried hilsa fish and hot rice, there is nothing else to say.
