Quick sketch for today!
These days have been so stressful and I can’t take it anymore so I decided to grab my art materials and portray my emotions.
"You're just over-reacting."
"Just don't mind it."
These are the words I heard often when I always talk about my feelings and or thoughts. Honestly, suffering from Anxiety is NO JOKE!
What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is a feeling of fear. A feeling when you can't stop thinking of something that may lead you to stress (natural body's response from anxiety). You can say that you are suffering from it when you; excessively worry, can't rest due to overthinking and experienced difficulty in sleeping, feel nervous, easily get irritated, have impaired concentration and any action or feelings that you can't stay still.
When I first started in college, I haven't been feel pressured yet I already heard my friends/classmate share their problems (family, financial, studies) when they can't hold it any longer. And through this, it makes them feel better. But, UNTIL WHEN?
When months passed during my college years, I slowly experience having anxiety. Where it's so difficult for me to sleep, I easily get tired, irritated, and always think of "what's gonna happen tomorrow". That feeling when I can't even control my mind to stop overthinking and it's so uncomfortable. There, I realized that the "it's okay" phrase that we used to tell someone to make them feel better is not enough after all.
Have you experienced that moment when you just cry and don't even now the main reason? You just feel emotional all of a sudden then wiped your tears and immediately think about the "why's" then give yourself a pat and just forget afterwards.
Waking up everyday is one of the reasons why I keep fighting on because I know, I still have lot to do and I HAVE PURPOSE.
GIVE YOURSELF SPACE TO:
Admit it that there's a part of you whose prefer to have some lone time! Spending time with yourself in a room with all the things that makes you comfortable and secured is GOOD (for some: stop thinking about your relationship status). Don't make your self get stressful! Because for now, all you need is a ME-TIME. This is the only time for you to appreciate your self, care for your self and love for your self.
Know your Self more and try out some things that you haven't tried before or things that once you really want to do. Make yourself a bucket list!
Can't stop thinking about it? Give yourself a break! Do those things that can make you feel YOU. For me, my place of comfort is doing Art. This helps me keep myself away from overthinking and helps me to feel determined or boost my mood.
You can also spend time with the people you love. Avoid thinking about haven't happened yet (tomorrows). Live as of the moment instead!
If there's something that you really want to have, just motivate your self. Never think about negative thoughts because this might lead you to failure as you will lose focus. Stop making expectations, too. And ever if you get failed, move forward. Because we must learn to ACCEPT things. Let's just bring the lessons and leave the heavy emotions behind.
You better appreciate life than drowning yourself from heavy deep thoughts.
ART IS ONE OF MY LIFESAVERS
Expressing my self through Art helped me to grow as an individual. This is the only passion where I felt comfort as it makes my heart flutter when I see the outcome of my artworks make it to my expectations and especially when I learn something new.
Living through Art gave me a room for improvements and this made me flexible in learning through discovery and from my mistakes. To see those flaws, I used to take a snap of my works so I can improve my faults.
Seeing a lot of colors makes me extremely happy as well. From different types of tones to hues is quite challenging yet the excitement I feel every time using my palette.
And I will never ever stop searching for my soul in Art and I will continue on improving my beauty of creativity!
HOW ARE YOU FEELING RIGHT NOW?
Did this question made you think? Try to ask someone how they're doing. Asking them about how they're going is one of the simplest way to make them feel better and loved. With that, they will feel comfortable to talk about their deep thoughts and or open up to you.
If you're a parent, you should make this as practice, too. Especially when they are aging to 10 and above as it is the time that they will slowly experience anxiety. This may came from his/her friends at school (bullying). Or maybe from your family or even with his/her own self. If they are not that easy to share their emotions, don't push them to express. Give them time to think.
Sometimes, a single HUG or touch means a lot better. Even when you give someone a sincere pat, they knew that it means COMFORT.
