Anynon-alcoholic concentrated syrup that's used to make potables is called a ‘ squash. ’ A squash is primarily fruity in flavor and made with water and sugar. numerous traditional squashes also have herbal excerpts in them. When summers in Bangladesh creep in, the stylish way to cool our body is with stupefied glasses of homemade potables that satisfy our thirst. Then, squashes take the award for the ‘ stylish performance ’ as they're easy to make and can be prepared in large amounts and stored for after-use.
Summers for me surely mean preparing batches of this non-alcoholic Lemon Squash and using it to make cooling drinks whenever I wish to.
This Lemon Squash form is veritably close to my heart as it's from my cuisine academy. I've made many changes in the proportions and skipped the citric acid and sodium benzoate from the form to keep it healthier. This manual saccharine doesn't have any complements or preservatives added to it.
Ingredients | Quantity |

Sugar | 2 cups |
Lemon juice | 1 cup |
Water | 1 cup |
- First, in a pan or saucepan, take 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of water
Keep this sugar-water result on low heat. Stir so that the sugar dissolves.
When all the sugar has dissolved, continue to poach on low heat until you get a half-string thickness in the syrup. Also, switch off the heat.
You can also heat the sugar syrup to one-string consistency. I cooked it to half-string thickness.
- From 15 pieces of lemons, I got 1 cup of lemon juice.
- Now add the lemon juice to the sugar syrup. When you add the lemon juice, the sugar syrup should be lukewarm or at room temperature.
- I add a few drops of green food color. It's optional.
Now pour the Lemon Squash into when preparing the Lemon Squash Drink, add 3 to 4 tablespoons of the squash in a glass, and add stupefied water. Stir and serve.
