Our coats, boots and brollies are still hanging in the hallway (you just never know), but the Memorial Day long weekend has been and gone, and that means summer is here. It’s quite ridiculous, but we feel like every season, we forget how to do the things the season requires! How do we garden? How do we grill? How do we put together a vacation that’s reasonably priced, enjoyable for everyone, and doesn’t involve ludicrously long flights (OK, that’s genuinely quite difficult)?
Luckily, Flipboard’s publishers, creators and curators have absolutely stacks of information and advice on all of those subjects and more.
We’re not blessed with green thumbs, so our starting point for gardening tips is Family Handyman. The folks there know everything about revamping or maintaining your outdoor space, from smart hacks to lawn mower repair.
For grilling guidance, there’s Kita Roberts of Girl Carnivore, who specializes in barbecue and camping recipes. She has umpteen Magazines and Storyboards, but her Grill Baby Grill collection is a great starting point. Or if you’re not a meat-eater, you can take a look at Janelle Hamas of Plant Based Folk’s Storyboard on cooking with jackfruit — great for dishes like sliders, wings and jerk “chicken.”
Summer is the time for great movies (those school vacations are looooooooong), and luckily, we have many great entertainment publishers to help us. Variety’s Film Magazine has our perfect combination of reviews and hot Hollywood goss. To plan our TV watching, we turn to the Hollywood Reporter’s TV Reviews Magazine.
Finally, for our gnarly vacation-booking plans, we’re looking for tips from members of The Travel Exchange, and dreaming of traveling to some of the places our friends at Travel + Leisure recommend in their Best Beaches in the World Storyboard. Does anyone know the best way to Bora Bora?
