¡Hola a tod@s!
Autorretrato. Boceto a lápiz y tinta. 2019.
Seguiré con mi historia en otro post.

English Version
Hello everyone! My name is Fernanda @kitzune, I'm a designer and illustrator and I currently live in Venezuela. Since I was a kid I loved drawing, and when I graduated from school, I decided to study graphic design.
I have practiced many types of visual techniques for my work, and I'm a fan of everything that has interesting and authentic visual content. ❤️
My curiosity is infinite. I've done workshops of all kinds, from musicals to literature and languages. And if I wanted to talk about all my interests, the truth... it would be a very, very long post 😆.
For now, I will only talk about my passion for illustration, and how in the last two years I have really developed myself in it, because I finally accepted how much I like doing it ....
Actually I spent a lot of time thinking that there was no purpose in being an illustrator, and that I wouldn't have no future with this profession.
Ironically, in my design study days, it was when I least drew, not only for my occupations, but for the great lack of motivation. (Surely adolescence had something to do 😆), but one of the things that characterizes me is that I can't act if I don't have the feeling or the inspiration, and that's the way it is with everything I do! I think if you don't feel like it, you can't do anything correctly.
Even several years passed in which the only strokes I made were writing. Although I was always in contact with art, especially painting and drawing, I was waiting for the inspiration to illustrate to come at some point.
So one day, during 2015, I unexpectedly passed by a street store where they sold Japanese animated series, better known as anime.
From that day on, I began to like many things that I had left aside, and also to appreciate new things that I had not noticed before. Like the effort and creativity it takes to craft, illustrate, and animate a story. (In addition, my interest in studying Japanese was born, which I started doing in 2017. And it should be said that this is how I met my wise Japanese Sensei, but we will talk about this later).
So in that 2015 I studied with two super teachers of literature and art who changed the way I saw things. They taught me to express my ideas in a unique and personal way and to take references ... basically from everywhere! Cinema, literature, art, music... they taught me to keep my open mind in order to create.
Selfportrait. Sketch, ink and paper. 2019.
I learned a lot of things that year, the most important thing was that you must know and accept yourself, that way the art you create will be unique and special, without the need to do it, or to compete, it will simply be unique because it reflects your true personality, ideals and wishes.
And surely many people will identify with you, more than you think.
So I applied one of the best tips they gave me: have a sketchbook. There I was shaping what I could think of, including words and poems, freely sketching, what I thought, what I saw ... without prejudice, without comparisons and without seeking perfection. It is an excellent exercise to expand creativity!
Still, it was in the year 2018, finally! That I really started spending time and effort illustrating. After being selected (without expecting it at all)! As a designer in a publishing house where they believed a lot in my work and I met very creative and witty people.
In that way inspiration came (unexpectedly😅). Little by little I find my own language, which is what eventually leads you to have your own style and here I will continue, practicing and learning, sharing my ideas, my feelings and my hopes through drawing. Hoping that my message reaches others, that they can identify and feel something special, get out of reality for a few moments and enter into an imaginary world.
Into my imaginary world
:)
So the moral of my little story is ... Never give up! Every day and every second is a beginning. So looking at it that way, every minute that passes is an opportunity to start something new. Imagine how many new things you have left to do! 💗
I´ll continue with my story in another post.
