18 THE LORD is CLOSE to all who CALL on HIM, YES, TO all who CALL on Him in TRUTH [sincerely].
19 HE GRANTS THE DESIRES OF THOSE WHO FEAR HIM; He HEARS their CRIES for HELP and RESCUES THEM.
20 THE LORD PROTECTS all those WHO LOVE HIM, But He destroys the wicked."
Psalm 145:18,19 (NLT)

• A Christian sister
A sister was sharing her testimony, how God granted her request about getting a life partner—husband.
In the church she attends, they usually hold a monthly meeting which all the branches of that church denomination come together for a prayer meeting. The last meeting before God answered her prayers, mainly on having a husband; she said, she told God that If He did nothing about the request in her life, that meeting she attended that day would be her last meeting, she would no longer attend the prayer gathering again. But that same day, night, which she prayed the prayers, she met the person who proposed to her, they are married now with children.

  • Now, with such a prayer, God answered It out of mercy and love, and not the pattern through which He does things—it was not the right way to receive from God.
  • You cannot threaten God to do something for you. You cannot give Him an ultimatum, that If He did not do what you are asking for, on or before so and so time, you would no longer Serve Him. No!
  • God would not be moved by such a prayer. You cannot coarse or threaten God to do a thing for you. The lady's prayer or request was granted because of her level of understanding, her growth level, in God.
  • If a mature believer, someone who has been in the Lord for a while, mature in the understanding of the Bible, should ask or pray thus, God will just ignore the person's prayer. In fact, such a prayer could make the delay she had been experiencing prolonged. But the lady's prayer or request was granted because of her level of understanding or knowledge in God (1 Corinthians 3:1,2; Hebrews 5:13).
  • Albeit, God would not want her to remain at that level, the babyhood stage, because that is a childish way of praying or receiving from God.
  • God would grant her the opportunity to grow, learn the Word of God, and open her eyes of understanding, through which she would know how to present or bring her requests before God in line, in accordance, with His Word.
  • She would not just be coming to God whenever she had a dire need and said If you did not do this or that, I would no longer attend church meetings. No. God would expect her to wise up and grow up, to know how to present her case before Him, in a better and mature way, and that according to the Scriptures.

• What are your desires?

  • If your desires are not in line with the Word of God, they will not be granted.
  • If your desires are fleshly motivated, they will not be fulfilled. Some people's desires are wrong and carnal.
  • The expectations of many are cut off because they are not in line with God's Will or Word. What you are asking God to do, Is it in line with His Word—the Bible?
  • God would not leave you, If you could allow His Will in your life. Endeavour to live for God, and not for the self: "AND HE [Jesus] DIED FOR ALL, THAT THOSE WHO LIVE SHOULD LIVE NO LONGER FOR THEMSELVES, BUT FOR HIM WHO DIED FOR THEM AND ROSE AGAIN" (2 Corinthians 5:15 NKJV).
  • Some are living for the self, they have ruled God out of their lives!

• Note: In our text, the calling, desires, and the cries, of those who are truthful, or sincere, in their walk with God; and those who fear Him, and those who love Him, would receive help from Him.

  • Remember:
    a. Those who call on God in Truth, that is, sincerely;
    b. Those who fear Him;
    c. Those who love Him;
    ARE those who would receive from Him.
  • Insincerity or untruthfulness would hinder you from receiving the best of God.
  • You must grow beyond the level of serving God because of what you wanted to receive from Him.
  • Your walk with God should be about relationship and fellowshipping. And in any relationship and fellowshipping, truthfulness or sincerity is very crucial.
  • You also must fear Him reverently.
    And you must love Him with all your Heart:
    37 JESUS said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND with ALL YOUR MIND.’ 38 THIS IS THE FIRST AND GREAT COMMANDMENT" (Matthew 22:37;38 NKJV).
  • Let God be number One in your life. In all you do, acknowledge Him (Proverbs 3:5,6).

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

  • If there is any ailment in your body, as you are reading this piece, such is rebuked and uprooted in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
  • You are made whole now, and the Affliction will not rise the second time in Jesus' name.
    Peace!

STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. Ask that He will write your name in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).

  • If you took the steps As highlighted above, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
