For diabetic patients, fasting during Ramadan can be challenging, as they need to manage their blood glucose levels while abstaining from food and water for long hours. Diabetic patients should consult with their doctor before fasting during Ramadan. The doctor can help the patient determine whether it is safe for them to fast and provide guidance on how to manage their diabetes during the fast.

Diabetic patients should monitor their blood glucose levels regularly during the fast, at least four times a day. This will help them keep track of their glucose levels and make any necessary adjustments to their medication or food intake.

Diabetic patients should not skip meals during Ramadan. Instead, they should have three balanced meals a day, with a predawn meal (suhur) before the start of the fast and a post-sunset meal (iftar) to break the fast. The meals should contain complex carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats to provide sustained energy and help control blood glucose levels. Diabetic patients should drink plenty of water and other fluids during non-fasting hours to stay hydrated. They should avoid sugary drinks and caffeine.

Diabetic patients who take medication or insulin should consult with their Doctor to adjust the doses according to their fasting schedule. They may need to change the timing or dosage of their medication to avoid low blood glucose levels.

Diabetic patients should be cautious when performing physical activities during the fast, as it can affect their blood glucose levels. They should avoid strenuous activities during fasting hours and engage in low-intensity exercises during non-fasting hours. Diabetic patients should break the fast if they experience symptoms of low blood glucose levels, such as dizziness, weakness, confusion, or sweating. They should also break the fast if their blood glucose levels fall.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and read this post. I pray everyone is healthy.
