Hello Friends, |

Greetings to you my lovely friends and families of the Steemit platform. I appreciate the STEEMIT HEALTH community for organizing this interesting contest.
"The mental health of a content creator" by @steemithealth is a very exciting topic to participate in.
As my Dad would always tell me, being healthy goes far beyond what we see and hear ordinarily. For a person to be certified healthy, he/she must be physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually alright.
Our mentality is what define us as humans, because we react and act as we think. For this task, I would be sharing my thoughts about the mental health of a content creator.
How I Feel When Creating Content |
---|
When I started my first online blogging for a Nigerian company called "Opera News Hub" back in 2018, it was really a stressful and exhausting experience.
At that time, I just got into a career I never planned for, given the fact that I was more focused on programming and writing codes to solve problems.

Nevertheless, as life may have it, I began to enjoy what I was doing, as I was seen creating quality and important articles which generated so much money for me at that time.
In December of 2020, a friend of mine Josepha introduce me to Steemit, as he believed my mental health was ready for the bigger picture.
So far, it has been great, and I love it here. I derive joy and happiness in creating beautiful content for my lovely Steemit friends. There's this inner peace and excitement I get whenever I successfully complete a task on Steemit.
What makes me even happier and fulfilled is to realize that I have gained more knowledge from the topic of my discussion, given the fact I must have done quality research to produce that article.
The Feeling Of Mental Exhaustion While Generating Contents |
---|
I have been hearing people, especially bigger content creators complain of depression and anxiety while working on their careers.
The truth is that, as a content creator, you must on one occasion or the other face challenges (mentally or emotionally). This usually feels harder at the beginning of your career, but it becomes lighter when you continually practice.
Personally, I have gone through this phase many times already, and it was really challenging. When performing tasks by Professors of the Crypto Academy community, I would usually go without sleep for more than 12 hours to prepare a single task.
I knew I was mentally exhausted when I started dreaming of performing assignments given by the Professors in my dreams.

Nevertheless, the feeling of exhaustion and mental frustration is no longer a challenge. I have learnt to practice what I want my brain to adapt to, and it has worked perfectly. I don't force myself into doing things anymore, as my body is now responsive to things I had practiced daily.
How I Feel When My Content Isn't Getting The Value I Expected? |
---|
For me, it's a feeling of disappointment and discouragement, given the fact that a good amount of my time had been involved in the creation of the article.
It's a natural feeling we feel as humans whenever our content isn't given what we expect, but then we should equally learn to endure hard times and hope for better days ahead.
Value like my friend earlier told me, does not have to be too big or time consuming, as a little show of appreciation could encourage users.
Appreciating a user's article is a sign of motivation to push harder and improve better, but if such value isn't shown, it might as well be a discouragement to the users.
The best way to avoid this feeling of disappointment is to expect less from the curators, and hope that things become better for you.

But if it doesn't changes, hustle harder, buy STEEM tokens, power up big, and start curating others the way you expect to be curated. With this, you would be earning from curation rewards, and this is equally a way of strengthening the Steemit ecosystem.
My Recommendation For Content Creators In Keeping A Healthy Mind |
---|
Being healthy and prosperous is the goal of every individual, and as content creators, we should know that our mental health is of paramount importance.
Below are some of my recommendations for a healthy mindset as a content creator on Steemit.
- Expect less support from the curators, because supports ain't guaranteed here on the Steemit platform. When you do this, your mind would be at rest after posting an article. Supports given when less expected are surprising and exciting all at once.

We should equally learn to appreciate the little we get from other curators. Many steemians don't appreciate the votes of the smaller curators but want that of the chief curators, and that's where the problem seems to come from.
Remaining consistent while we hope for bigger rewards is the key. I just got to learn through SC01'S comment that being consistent and following the guidelines of the Steemit team is as important as promoting Steemit.
And my final recommendation for a healthy mindset as a content creator is to avoid competition, as that's a killer to your pursuit of success.
Conclusion |
---|
Our mental health should be of paramount importance to us as content creators, as a man can be judged through his mentality. When generating content, we should try to stay sane as possible.
By staying sane, we should learn to avoid competition, expect less, appreciate the little and remain consistent while we hope for better days ahead.
Big thanks to the organizers of this contest. Am inviting dave-hanny, @astilem, and @mvchacin to check out this contest.

Hello dear friend, thank you very much for your post, certainly our mental health should be a priority, as content creators we can always have episodes of fatigue, it is normal, but the important thing is to recover and continue creating, in addition to value every achievement we have within that activity. Anything goes, everything adds up.
