Hello friends,

It's week 5 already! Steemit engagement challenge has come to stay, do you know this is season 8? Can I ask how many seasons did you witness or got involved in?

I really love this week's topic. It brings back so many memories. The topic is "the story of my birth". Most people may not be able to remember theirs but for me I can remember because my mum is a story teller so didn't miss an opportunity she had telling us stories especially the ones regarding our birth.

Tell us in the most creative way, What is the story of your birth?

Every mother has a story or even an experience behind each child she has given birth to. One amazing thing is that mother's can have several stories for several kids they have which means there are no two stories alike.

My mum told me the story of my birth and I would share that with you today hahaha! Am going to divide the story into 3 stages.

Stage of pregnancy

Before i got into the womb of my mum, she has already given birth to 3 children. Two boys and a girl. Mum said she wanted a girl child, so that it will be balance.

Mum finally got pregnant after 4 years of given birth to the third child. Mum was not expecting to get pregnant at that time, so she didn't know she was pregnant. She said she was purging and she went to get drugs to stop purging. She said she felt it was the mango she ate too much that was causing her to purge.

She got to the pharmacy, and the pharmacist told her to do a pregnancy test. She argued and finally accepted. Result came out and it was positive. She was happy and so was my Dad.

Stage of pregnancy scan

Mum said she was curious and wanted to know the sex of the baby in her womb. Remember she wanted a girl child.

One morning she decided to visit the hospital to have a scan which she did. The result came out and she was told she was going to have a baby boy. She said her excitement faded. She got home and told my Dad about it. He told her she should not worry that which ever sex God gives to them, he would appreciate it.

Stage of delivery

Mum said on that faithful Saturday night, she was under a mango tree at the center of our compound. She had already prepared her stew for Sunday. She was under the mango tree enjoying the cool breeze and some mango fruits. Suddenly her tummy started disturbing her. She went to use the toilet as usual. But she started feeling an usual pain. She told our neighbor that she is purging again and wants to go to the hospital for drugs.

On Sunday morning mum gave birth to me, a bouncing baby girl. Mum said that Sunday was the official date we national children's day in my country which may 27 . The hospital presented gifts to me as a children's day gift. Mum said she was so happy she gave birth to a girl. The news of mum's delivery spread in the neighborhood. Mum decided to give me a native name Chidinma which means God is good

Have you had any particular experience with a pregnant woman?

Yes I have had several experience with pregnant women. But the most recent was my best friend. She got married in 2021 and she got pregnant almost immediately because she gave birth October 2022.

She lives in a different city from where I live so when she got pregnant, I visited her in that city and stayed with her for a long while.

In my experience staying with my friend when she was pregnant, I found out that been pregnant is not an easy our infact I see pregnancy as a journey. There are alot of changes that occured with my friend. Different types of craving. But my friend was really strong and am glad she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Am currently at her house, taking care of her baby who is already 5 months old.

Did you inherit any disease from your parents? Tell us in details

No I didn't inherit any disease from my parents. My parents are alive and very healthy. And so am I right now. Am so happy my parents didn't have any disease or transfered any to me.

During your childhood, Do you remember any occuring illness?

As kids there are just some illness associated with been kids. But as per having reoccurring illness I didn't have. I only got some common illness like chicken pox, measles, catarrh, fever. Few occasions I had malaria.

I was a really healthy baby. I remember when I had measles. Grandma said she would handle it. She bought sugar cane. She would chew the sugar cane and and spit the water on my body. She did it for 3days and the measles left. When I had chicken pox, grandma also handled it. This time she robbed my whole body with a particular native white chalk. Before you know it it also left.

Conclusion

We all have stories linked to our birth. Am so glad I get to share my birth experience with the world today.

I would like to invite some friends to tell me about their own birth experience. @mile16 @chichieze @ninapenda

Interesting birth story @ruthjoe,

Wow it was not really an easy journey for mom while you were still in the womb. They always say that the girl child gives a whole lot of trouble and disturbance before she is born, I have read it from your story today.

So sugar cane water can cure measles? Wow I didn't know about it. Thank God grandma was very much around to help out. Our birth stories are full of one drama or the other.

Good luck!

Thank you for the show of support my love..
Now you know my birth story and I hope you don't use it again me in any way!!

Well I do not know if sugar cane cures measles but it worked when grandma used it.

From today i will be calling you chidinma, children are indeed a blessing. Is good to know that your parents are alive and you did not inherit any sickness from them .God bless your parents .

Hahaha! Thank you for the compliments

Child birth is really a different kind of stage especially when you're really looking for just one gender at that time it will be very special to you, sometimes people say the scan lies and I never believed it but in your case I believe big time, you are just the smile your parents was really expecting at that point and then the miracle happened 😊😊your English name would have been MIRACLE 🥰🥰 because everything was just a miracle that needed to happen to put a smile on your mom's face.

Hahaha I laughed at the name miracle! It's a good name but just maybe mum and Dad preferred my current name, And guess what? I love it.!.

Thank you for stopping by

So creative story. Indeed sometimes the sign of pregnancy can come in different ways, in the case of your mum was via purging and when she carried out the test, it was positive.

Thanks for sharing.

That's true, several signs accompany pregnancy, so if I may ask have you had an experience with a pregnant woman? Because you seem to know alot

What an interesting story. There are so many Expectations on the part of the woman once she notices pregnancy. It's always a time of wishes...if understand what I mean. I'm glad God answered your mother's wish and pray point....God is Really Good!

Chicken pox and measles are two diseases associated with children... though it's no respected of the adults too. We thank God you family is not associated with any kind of diseases.

So you follow for the children that owns Children's Day...a never forgetable birthday 😍😍😍!

Thank you for your support

Yes o I follow be be children wey own children day!

You are right about mothers having different stories About their different child birth.
Your birth was actually unique, coupled with the day and date of your birth.

I can imagine the joy in your mum's face when she saw that she gave birth to a baby girl as she desired.

Thank you so much for sharing😌
It was very educative and I’m just hearing that sugar cane water can cure measles🤯 Wow!!
