With changing climate patterns and global warming, extreme heat has become an everyday miracle in numerous corridors of the world. Rising temperatures during the summer months can pose serious health pitfalls if proper preventives aren't taken. Heat-related ailments like heat prostration, cramps, and heat stroke can be life-threatening. Thus, knowing how to stay healthy in extreme heat is essential to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Here are some tips to help you stay healthy during extreme heat:

  • Stay Doused One of the most important effects you can have during extreme heat is to stay doused. If you do not feel thirsty, drink plenty of water throughout the day. Water is essential for regulating body temperature and keeping your body performing properly. Avoid alcoholic and caffeinated potables as they can dehydrate you. However, increase your water input to compensate for the fluids lost through sweat, If you're engaging in physical conditioning or spending time outside.

  • Dress meetly Wear loose-fitting, light-coloured apparel made of permeable fabrics similar to cotton. Avoid dark-coloured apparel as they can absorb further heat. cover yourself from the sun by wearing a wide-brimmed chapeau, and sunglasses, and using sunscreen with a high SPF. However, stay in the shade or indoors during the hottest part of the day, generally between 10 a, Possible.m. and 4 p.m.

  • Avoid emphatic Conditioning During extreme heat, avoid engaging in emphatic conditioning similar to exercise or out-of-door sports, especially during the hottest parts of the day. However, try to do it beforehand in the morning or late in the evening when it's cooler If you need to exercise. hear to your body and rest when you feel tired or overheated.
  • Eat Light and Balanced Refections Eating heavy refections can increase your body's metabolic rate, which generates further heat. conclude for light, balanced reflections that are rich in fruits and vegetables.   • Take Frequent Breaks If you're working or spending time outside, take frequent breaks to rest and cool down. Find a shadowed area or an air-conditioned space to rest in and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Overexertion in extreme heat can lead to heat prostration or heat stroke.
    Be apprehensive of Warning Signs Be apprehensive of the warning signs of heat-related ails. Heat prostration symptoms include heavy sweating, weakness, headache, nausea, dizziness, and muscle cramps. However, move to a cooler place, and drink water, if you witness these symptoms.
