Boy or girl child, which do you think is more expensive to train? Give your reasons

The cost of raising both the boys and girls is mainly hinged on the socio-economic status of the family, the culture and the society. However, in the society there is a belief that the expenses into raising a girl child are slightly higher than those of a boy child for several reasons.

🔹Education:
It is usually expected that cost of education should be friendly to the child regardless of their gender, whether boy or girl. Nevertheless, in some societies people, including Bangladesh, attitude to higher education for girls as an additional expense. When I stayed in a students hostel for longtime time, i found out that the fees of girls hostel were more expensive as compared to boys hostels.
🔹Health: It could be added here that girls may have additional health-related costs. Hearing aids, sanitary towels, and medical facilities and in some cases, special food during midst women’s period all lead to such expenses. Furthermore, there can also be future maternity expenses and other issues can also occur.
🔹Clothing & Fashion:
Sometimes, girls are expected to dress more fancily than boys and wear nice clothes and shoes all the time. Parents may spend more on the expenses of food for girls, clothes, jewelries and cosmetics. The expenses are also very high for girls during ceremonies such as weddings or social dinners, unlike boys. In most societies, marriage is a big financial burden to a girl’s family in as much as dowry is still in practice.
🔹Social Demands and Marriage:
Social standards and customs, such as dowry and wedding costs exerts further pressure on the family. Despite the fact that dowry is an illegal act, it still exists in various parts of the world.

If you were to be a parent today, which gender do you prefer to have as your children? Give us your reasons

1000000815.jpgMy thoughts as a Parent

I am a married person and my marriage was held last year. In few years from now may be I will be a mother.
For myself, I do not have any preference between the genders of the child whether it is a boy or a girl. The key consideration here appears to be the kind of personality, value and ethics imparted to the child rather than their gender.

Here are some of the reasons behind this belief:
🔹Social Change and Equality:
Through the passage of time, chances oppourtunities and responsibilities are tending to balance between boy and girl in this society. Girls are performing extremely well in their respective fields and boys are also cop up with girls in doing house hold works. Therefore child gender is less of an issue. I would dwell more on the aspect of the society and to what extent the child would be productive.
🔹Perspective Against Gender Discrimination:
In the society today there are endeavors that seek to eliminate gender discrimination. If I am a parent I would want to bring up both boys and girls in such a manner to give them equal chances, knowledge and liberty. I would want my child grow to be a good human being, not by classifying him or her by gender.

During adolescence, which gender shows tendencies to go out of control? Why

problem in adolescence time 1000000816.jpg

In adolescence boys as well as girls experience major mental and physical changes that make them vulnerable to perder control. Overall, it is found that boys exhibit some behaviors that make them out of control.

🔹 Aggressive Behavior in Boys:
This is because boys are influenced by testosterone hence being more aggressive and having the desire in extreme activities. They generally desire to take charge and get their ways. It is a known fact that boys are more likely to be out of the home than girls and this implies that they spend most of their time with friends. I have observed from my young male cousins, who from childhood has been very wild.
🔹Emotional Struggles in Girls:
Girls in Bangladesh are often tend to stay their homes and are also more obedient by virtue of cultural training. But girl always have some feelings and emotional issues and relationship complication. So they often tend to be mentally ill. Girls specifically during this time need to be well guided and given all the emotional support that they need.

🔹Social Influence:
It can be seen that self motive, friends groups, social expectations and technology affect boys and girls in equal measure. So while boys and girls may lose control in different ways, the family’s role in guiding them is crucial.

What do you think about the statement; "what a boy can do, a girl can do better"?

1000000817.jpg
Time for Girls

Common to such expressions- "if a boy can do something, a girl can do it even better". Which is usually said to encourage women. But it also has a metaphor meaning.

🔹Equality and Capability:
It emphasizes the fact that in no way can girls be considered less than boys. Now a days even girls are coming forward and proving their worth in all fields including science, technology, business, politics, or even in physically challenging activities.
🔹Evaluation Criteria:
Competence should not be a subject to distinctions that can be drawn based on the subjects of gender. The examples from the statement clearly state that a male or female’s ability and talent depend not upon gender, but rather mind, body, spirit, work, and education. While some works may be easy to complete by boys, others will be easy to complete by girls. I don’t think there is any difference between the two; both are capable of doing most things or even perhaps everything. We should not consider this factor as criteria for discriminating between people.

Hence, it is clear that girls are as equally important as boys and they have their own set of characteristics. Though the costs and difficulties associated with raising them may differ from one society or culture. Our concern should be on shaping the child’s future, character, and confidence in accordance to his or her potential without respect to gender.
