Have you ever eaten unriped plantain pepper soup during a cold or rainy weather?
Going to the background that forms this topic, I agree with the host that sometimes, we deviate from our normal food combo. This crave for a different kind of food combination may be as a result of the weather condition and our mood in a particular time.
Some people go for a certain kind of food when they are habppy or in a certain weather condition, Others also go for a different one. But what marvels me is the way they are combined.
The taste is also another aspect that makes this food combo interesting. When you add two different kind of food together, it gives another kind of taste that makes you to form it as a habit to want to have it often.
I also like such food combination and so I come forward to present a delicious kind of food combo today.
The Season That I Craved For Unriped Plantain Pepper Soup
One day, I woke up in the morning and looking through the window, it was a thick cloud about to send down the rain. The early morning cloudy weather was not without cold as already, the rainy season set in.
Picking up my phone I checked the time and it says ‘6:00am'. The cloudy and cold weather reminded me that, my body needed to take in a hot food in the form of pepper soup. I quickly ran into the kitchen brought some unriped plantain and pills them off. I cut them into two equal halves and washed. After washing, I got the ingredients like the:
- Crayfish
- Stock cubes
- Onions
- Dry pepper
- Scent leaf
- Dry fish
- Salt
The cooking now started! As the plantain now on fire, I staryed adding the ingredients mentioned except the scent leaf which I waited a little bit before adding. I added the scent leaf 3 minuites to the plantain geting done. By this time, it has already started to rain. By this time, it has already started to rain. Now after the 3 minuites, the plantain gets done and the food is now ready to eat.
‘my o my!' I shouted as I started to eat this delicious food in the cold and rainy weather. The plantain pepper soup is a food for the rainy or cold weather.
Moreover, plantain is a rich source of iron which our body needs to function well. Having it in our food menu, is right to do.
Among other food combos that I have eaten, here are three of them that I present:
- Eating Beans, potatoe, and garri
- Eating Bread and coconut
- Garri with avocado
EATING BEANS, POTATOE, AND GARRI
Let me ask, have you tasted this combo of eating these three food together before? This combo have the stew prepared with oil palm fruit which we call in my native language as *ofe akwu; in pidgin English the stew is called banga or as well banga soup. Then you have the stew spread on the beans and potatoe. Still on this, you have your garri with either salt or sugar soaked in water. You will just be totaly satisfied when you have this combo.
You can opt to have this combo in the afternoon or in the night.
I eat this kind of combo when I am excessively hungry.
EATING WITH COCONUT
This is another combo that makes my taste buds to rise and hunger for it.
We often use the bread to make tea or at most, use to drink pap.
For me sometimes, I use coconut to eat bread. Bread comes with its nutritional values as indicated by the producers. Coconut on its own, derives its nutrients naturally.
The coconut fruit is made up many nutrients that helps our body to function well. Some of the nutrients coconu is made of include:
- Protein
- Fibre
- Potassium
- Copper
- Iron
- Fat
- Magnessium
- Manganese
- Selenium
- Phospherousetc.
when you now eat this fruit having these nutrients with bread, your body system would thank you for it.
- DRINKING GARRI WITH AVOCADO PEER
Drinking garri with avocado peer is another weired food that I have taken. This combo when taken in the hot afternoon, would nourish your body. It could be mostly taken during the hot season when the body temperature is high and needs to cool down.
How To Make This Combo
To enjoy the wonderful taste of this food combo, this is how it could be prepared.
Get the quantity of garri that could be enough for you
Get your avocado peer. Pill and cut to your needed quantity.
Get a chilled cup of water and pour into the garri
**Get some cubes of sugar or the granulated sugar and add to it. Stir it very well.
Get any milk of you choice either powdered or liquid. Add and stir very well.
Start drinking the garri with the avocado peer.
This is how I enjoy the sweetness of this combo and have my body temperature brought down in a hot weather conditon.
Talking about the inspiration behind my food combo, I would say that it hinges on three reasons. These reasons are:
The crave to have a different, and irregular kind of food and taste
The crave to have a satisfaction outside my nornal kind of food
The weather condition
In a hot weather condition, I may opt for an irregular food such as the garri and avocado combo to cool my temperature.
Secondly, when I am excessively hungry, I may decide to combine three different kind of food together for a maximum satisfaction.
The effect of these combo to my body is that:
**When I take the garri and avocado with chilled water during the hot weather, My body temperature would go down **
**When I take the **beans, potatoe with the garri in a time I am excessively hungry, I woud have a long lasting energy in the to do or carry out my activities for that day.
