Introduction

As of the time of publishing this post being Friday @4:18 Am, this is the only period I'm experiencing cool weather since this week began. This week's weather has that severe effects on me and I'm ready to narrate how it has been, you just continue reading.

How the weather has been in my region this week

The cloudy skies
My last week's forecast about this week's weather came to pass and it did so accordingly. Beginning from these last two weeks of September to early weeks of November is the period we do experience so much and heavy rainfall every year and most unfailingly in my region being a riverine area. Thhis very year one looks not exceptional as well.

Talking about continuous rainfall we know the weather that comes with it, Frost, icy weather and freezing isn't it? So it's been here all through. Aside this as an effect to this current weather, we've been experiencing other negative effects which I'll be sharing with you in a jiffy but just then , let me lament a little.

It's been an always-indoor week for us here in the Bonny island of Rivers State. At least we've experienced a minimum of 68°f|°c, a 19% precipitation, humidity of 89% and 3mph of wind as the weather for this week, minimum I said.

Unlike last week which even though it rained much yet we still witnessed the rising of the sun in some days and a normal temperature, this week has proved so different.

I decided to check my region's current weather, at least it's not raining now in all parts of the island and I got a popup question from the weather team so as to improve their result ; "is it raining now? And I replied No their response "Thanks, glad you're dry now". We're simply used to the wetness incase they don't know.

How it has affected me

This week's weather has some additional negative effects on me. These are as follows;

  • Coldness:

The cold weather as a result of continuous precipitation this week makes me experience coldness leading to low temperature. I mean it's always raining even in the night when I'm supposed to be having a warm sleep. The coldness is gradually surpassing "covering myself with a heavy duvet" as a remedy, it's that serious.

  • Catarrh:

This is so obvious, isn't it? Low temperature as we should know increase better chance of getting sick compare to normal temperature because the body feels weak in fighting some viruses such as cold, catarrh, flu and even COVID 19 as it spread more easily, so experts says.

3 days ago while walking on the road, I felt like coughing and when I tried to, I couldn't cough well but dry cough instead. I knew at once that I'll be having catarrh because it happens to me every year around this time though it doesn't last more than 3 days. As of now, it has reduced to the barest, hoping to be totally free soon.

My forecast for next week

Next week might be a continuation of what started this week and we're just ready for it however expert has slightly different prediction than we the common men. To them next week's weather might be a bit brighter because of the too much rain this week.

Conclusion

Here in the island at least we got less or even zero worries about coldness, we're simply used to the cold weather even when it's dry season but because of the water surrounding us it's always not hot.

Also, I kove the fact that no matter how it rains here there isn't any issue of serious flooding and erosions causing houses to collapse as we've been hearing in other places.

Cheers to the cold weather anyway
