WHAT I THINK MAKES A MARRIAGE SUCCESSFUL

Marriage is a wonderful union originated by our creator to provide permanent enjoyment between the couple, he instituted it to be between a man and a woman, and each partner must marry one person.

The originator of marriage gives the principle that if followed will bring about a successful marriage. These are:

HUSBAND: The husband must love his wife like himself, he must cherish his wife, and take care of her as he takes care of himself.

WIFE: The wife must respect her husband in all areas. She must accept her husband as her head.

So as we can see from the above-mentioned principles, husband and wife have work to do to promote success and happiness in their marriage.

When a groom truly loves his wife and the wife honors him, that marriage will succeed.

HOW COUPLES CAN IMPROVE COMMUNICATION IN THEIR MARRIAGE

1. Making time to communicate with each other, not having a table for Communication.

2. Watching movies together at their leisure.

3. Having a walk together

4. Spending time together.

5. Avoiding separate rooms, husband and wife should sleep together in the same room, on the same bed. This will aid communication.

6. They should settle any misunderstandings quickly.
   These and many others.

THE IMPORTANCE OF TRUST IN A MARRIAGE

Trusting your spouse is very vital in a marriage, without trust, the marriage is a fallacy. Trust here involves, believing and knowing everything your partner is capable of doing and what they cannot do.

When you trust your partner, you are convinced that your partner is honest with you, no cheating, no deceit.

When couples trust each other, there will be no room for accusations in their marriage, they will not be scared of each other's movements and dealing with female/male especially in the workplace and business premises.

Trust brings peace of mind and confidence to the marriage. It plays a very vital role in marriage, so it is encouraging to build trust in your marriage, or still, marry someone you trust.

HOW COUPLES CAN NAVIGATE CONFLICT IN A HEALTHY WAY

With love, Even an offense can be forgiven, when there is love in marriage, conflict can be settled amicably.

Couples can solve problems by trying the following ways;

1. Pointing out the problem

2. Considering the cause of the problem

3. Seeking each other opinion on the matter

4. The guilty party renders an apology

5. Then they pardon and ignore such problems.

I think these few points, couples can use to navigate their conflict amicably.

DISTANCE AND CULTURAL DIFFERENCES A PROBLEM IN MARRIAGE

Yes, distance can cause problems in marriage, I have witnessed many marriages fail because of distance. When couples are distant from each other, infidelity can set in, except in rare cases.

Each partner will be longing for the company but cannot get it because of distance, there will be no time for bonding because they are a distance apart.

Couples who are distant from each other always experience emotional setbacks.

Cultural difference too may cause of problems in marriage. Why I say so is that, couples who do not understand each other's language find it difficult to communicate easily. But both couples can work things out in this context if understanding sets in.

Cultural differences may also bring about misunderstanding in cultural practices which may bring problems to the marriage. But as I said earlier, understanding each other can solve this problem.

Marriage is an enjoyable union when a husband and wife abide by their part of the principle. The husband must love his wife and the wife must respect her husband to bring success to the marriage. But they must take the necessary steps to improve their communication and take steps to solve their problems with peace. There should not be competition in marriage because it will not make the marriage healthy.
