Hello friends welcome to my blog. As I report events around my neighbourhood
It was an eventful day for us in an NGO(Non-Governmental Organisation) I belong to called YOUNG LIFE as we marked our last meeting of the year with sports activities.
In YOUNG LIFE, we help teenagers grow in their faith, and we achieve this in a unique way of doing it by providing fun activities, skill-building and adventurous life-changing experiences. It is inter-denominational in over 100 countries and has produced vibrant, dedicated, industrious young men and women over the years.
The event began early in the morning. As the teenagers arrived earlier enough, they were asked to. They had morning devotion in the field and registration. After which they all headed to the hall for their breakfast before the day's activities kick-started properly.
The teenagers were separated according to their gender after breakfast, and they were given a talk titled "Restless Feet", in which they were taught self-control and carefulness in order not to get themselves into trouble that would affect their future as Teenage stage one of the delicate stage in a person's life that requires all the guidance and direction to the right part of life. They were given instances of people who have made mistakes in life, how to avoid such mistakes and how to correct certain mistakes if they have made them already. It was an interactive section where the teenagers were allowed to ask questions and get some answers among themselves and clarifications from the leaders. The section lasted for about 40 minutes.
However, after the Talk section, it was game time and They were happy to engage in different games of their choice as there were varieties of them like the Ludo game, Chess, Table tennis, Skipping rope and many others. They made new friends as they played the games you could see the excitement on their faces. This game strategy is one of the fun ways used in Young Life to get their attention and boost their motivation; teenagers are active people, which also requires an active way of teaching to make it enjoyable to both the leaders and their peers.
Game time
There were also the same Christmas song presentations and dancing, which were given to each club to practice and present at the event. As teenagers, they made the presentation more interesting by coming up with different styles for that same song.
There were also race time and football competitions, which were all for fun. They had a good time, and so also did the leaders because, at some point, we had to join the game. This game time lasted for hours, but no one cared how long because we were all carried away by the fun. But had to stop when it was lunchtime.

They were all served lunch, after which a closing prayer and remarks were said, and everyone headed home. It was indeed a fun, happy and better way to end the year.
