Hello friends welcome to my blog
Stress is the reaction of the body to tension, worry, tense situations and pressure. Although a small amount of stress is good for motivation in achieving our aims, when stress is too much, it affects our well-being, leading to a wide range of health problems such as headaches, minor pains, difficulty breathing, blurred sight, indigestion, fatigue, difficulty in sleeping, anxiety disorder and depression.
The first is to notice when you are stressed. Then follow up with healthy ways to handle stress which include:
Healthy eating
A nutritious diet is very important in managing stress. Stay away from immoderate processed food and make sure to stay hydrated because being dehydrated increases stress and fatigue.
Physical activity
Exercising releases endorphins, which lift the natural mood. Physical activities such as yoga, running, dancing and swimming are effective ways to lessen stress and improve overall well-being.
Taking time for relaxation
Relaxation techniques reduce anxiety, relax the muscles and lower stress levels. Practicing relaxation daily helps handle stress.
Time management
Planning and prioritizing tasks helps to manage your time and avoid pressure, feeling more in control of your activities, thereby reducing stress.
Sleeping
Sleeping well is important in handling stress, you should have a schedule of sleeping time to get quality sleep and avoid practices that reduce your sleeping time, such as too much screen time.
Leisure activities
Leisure activities provide time to relax and unwind. Engaging in activities that give you pleasure, such as dancing, singing, and time with family and friends, elevates your mood, breaks stress and distracts you from worried situations.
Professional help
When stress becomes too much, and can't be handled on your own, it is ideal to seek professional help to identify and solve the problem contributing to the type of stress you are going through.
I am stressed when I stretch myself within its limit, which does not go well with me because I react to stress so fast as each individual reacts to stress separately.
Yes, one of the most stressful times I have had was when my mum was sick, and I had to go manage her business. I overworked myself to see that the business was up and running in her absence. It was very stressful for me and it affected my health.
What I did to handle the stress was that as soon as I returned to my base after the visit, I got enough relaxation, rest, sleep and feed well for a period, which worked for me and I bounced back to normal.
Not at all; stress does not solve the challenges of life. All you need do is time yourself, strategize, plan and execute as your strength can carry. You need to work smart and not overwork yourself, which most times comes along with health challenges caused by stress, and if you eventually die, life goes on.
I will encourage such a person to feed well with a nutritious diet, engage in social connections and avoid isolation, which is important for someone going through stress.
Moreso, helps the person to identify the cause of the stress and encourages to limit exposure to whatever it is and focus on the present rather than the worried situation
But if it is a stress that has gone out of hand or is unmanageable, I will advise professional help should be considered for therapy or counselling.
