Dear diary,

IMG_20250213_105818_975.jpg

Today I woke up as early as possible to returned back to the Specialist Hospital we went yesterday in other to booked a date for Orthopaedic Surgery for my brother who is also a steemian by the user name @samuelernest on steemit.
I woke up around 5:00am and I took my bath brushed my teeth immediately after our morning devotion, today again just like yesterday I couldn't go to work because we were asked yesterday to returned to the Specialist Hospital and the expected proposed time from the record office was 6:30am if at all we intended to see the doctor for consultation.

My brother had a dislocation on his right leg during a football match towards ending last year in the month of December 2024.
He initially received treatment locally using traditional experts without an ex-ray to identify or evaluate the impact of the injury which means the "rule of thumb" was what was adoption for the treatment.
Without the ex-ray to assertain the real problem, the treatment offered by the traditional experts wasn't very effective which is leading us to seek for an Orthopedic surgery in other to remedy the situation as soon as possible.

I plug the electric heater in other to use it to warm our bathing water because the weather was very cold like never before. We both took our bath immediately the water was hot enough for a hot bath to cope with the weather. Because it was too early we couldn't make breakfast, we left home with empty stomachs and hit the road when everywhere was still very dark before day break so that we can meet up with the time given; once we did not meet up with the timing again today just like yesterday no one will attend to us.

We arrived the hospital some minutes past the hour of 6am, by evaluation the movement was around 40 to 50 minutes there about from home to the hospital.
Upon reaching the hospital, all their main entrance gates were still under locks and keys because the place was still dark and there was no security or gate man available to open the gate for us then. We hunk for few minutes at the gate but to no avail, some people I think were returning from the mosque for prayers now advised us to turn the other way round through the small gate to see wether if the gate is open. Fortunate enough the gate was open so we entered and parked our bike at the park without collecting a pass because the person to issue it was not yet available which I think he most have been at the mosque then for morning prayer.

Since the place was still dark and no one was available to attend to us and also the weather was extremely cold, we went and sat down inside the Ex-ray reception to wait for the opening time since the place was warm and not harsh compared to the outside where the record office is. Time to time we do go and check the record office to see if the staff have open the office already, we checked severally but they never opened up till around 8am there about. We came first but since we've never been to this hospital we never knew that outside the record office there is a sheet of paper where names are recorded based on first come first served, we ended registering at number 12 on the list.

We left to look for a rest room and to stroll around the hospital for him to exercise the leg little bit, on our way back we saw people on the queue, we asked what it is all about, a lady told us that that is record office. We rushed to join the queue as in this picture and I discovered my brother is the only male in the queue, I later as the man inside this place is for what because this is what brought us to the hospital; the man clarified that it is for record but mainly for children.

The now refered us back to the former place only for us to returned to hear that our name has been called but we were not available and others have entered, we entered also to find out but the securities as well as the attendant in the reception would not allow us inside, we were asked to go out until our names are called and so we obeyed. After like about an hour or more, they used the list to call them to enter as in the picture below but I wasn't allowed to enter because according to them only patients are allowed to enter inside.

I sat down outside under the cold till the sun started shining and the weather began to change little by little, I began to sleep outside there. When I woke up I returned to the park in other to obtain my pass to enable me claim my bike when going back home. After obtaining the pass I returned to the record office and sat down outside. When it was our turn to see the doctor my brother called me on phone and we both entered. After hearing our ordeal and also checking up on the leg the female doctor send us visit the emergency room for there hearing as well as guidance. The doctor also forward a mail to the pharmacy for us to be given some drugs.

We left to the emergency room/office as you can see in the picture below, they also directed us to the Orthopedic office where they booked my brother for Orthopedic surgery in the next 1 month time.

From here we visited the pharmacy and they gave us the bill to pay through the cashier's office, we were not with any debit card or its equivalent; in this regard we employed the use of POS to make transfer to receive cash.

Afterward we went back to the cashier's office and make our payment and took the receipt back to the pharmacy and collected the drugs.
