My Christmas celebration

Greetings fellow steemians and welcome to my post. Hope y'all are doing good? Today, I'll like to make an entry for the contest organized by @josepha in the steem4nigeria community. In this contest, we're asked to talk about how we spent our Christmas 🎄⛄.

Christmas It is a celebration that we love celebrating with our loved ones; it is a celebration that most of us like to hang out with friends; it is a celebration of exchanging gifts and foods with neighbors, friends, etc. Today, Christmas 2022 has come and gone, and because of this powerful celebration, a lot of people traveled to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones.

Christmas encompasses just celebration, but it also makes people come together and unite under one umbrella.

How do you celebrate Christmas with your loved ones?

Well, before I got into this profession of mine(nursing), I used to celebrate Christmas with my family, friends and loved ones.

During that time, I would carry food from my house to my next door neighbor, and they too will share with me the one they have. During Christmas, I always make the best memories, because my uncle's and aunties will unite together, my grandma will be the ones to do the story telling at night, while we gather around to listen to the myth of the village. We do go shopping,attimes go for swimming in the local stream with my friends and it was a lot of fun. When I visited the village during Christmas, we usually go out to watch how masquerade dances, afterwhich it starts chasing us and we run away to avoid being flogged by it. It's actually a very nice memory, and I am happy that I seized the opportunity to attend such cultural practices.

However, for this Christmas, it's a different case, I wasn't chanced to go back home due to school activities, my school just gave us few days as Christmas holiday, and me being the economical type, I refused to travel because from my school to my house is roughly about 25000Naira which is equals 250-300 steems. To me, that's huge and that amount of money will do miracles in my school when it comes to feeding and other personal stuffs, so I asked my parents to send me the money to use for better things in school like my seminar presentation, which thy did. It's a huge sacrifice to me, and I today felt the burden, but what can I do? I'm a Nurse to be, and I've gotta sacrifice in other to gain what I desire.

Did you send a Christmas gift to someone special? If yes, who is that special person?

I didn't send nothing to nobody. I don't like making friends, due to my previous experience with people, so, I tend to enter into my shell at all times, just confiding in Eminems track to keep me company. I received a gift though from one of my senior in school (she has graduated now though). She bought me a pams slippers, which I was very happy to receive, and I thanked her whole heartedly.

Do you think you overspent during Christmas celebration?

Nope, I didn't spend anything during this Christmas, instead I saved up some money for school activities.

The only thing I did was to buy a bottle of V.I.P wine and some sachet alcohol, which I drank in my room alone and played loud music😹😹

What is the most expensive present you have ever bought or received for Christmas?

Like I said above, I didn't buy any gift for anyone, but I received a gift. The gift is worth 4500naira which is equals 45-50 steems (when calculating steem at the rate of 100naira each).

Did you hang out with your friends? If yes, tell us about it; if no, why?
Nope.. I didn't go out for Christmas. Firstly, I did some research on my seminar topics (neurasthenia), afterwhich I drank some wine in the evening and took alcohol. Then I bathed, ate something and slept.

Do you prefer to go out for New Year's Eve or stay in?
I want to go out for New years eve, but this time, I want to go to the hospital and assist the sick patients. I want my new year to start with me helping others, so that by Grace, I'll be blessed.

If money were no object, what kind of Christmas presents would you have given to Steemit?
Well, had it been I had enough money, my present will go to the steemit team. They seriously need a vacation. They've been working in steemit even before I became a steemian, and they've endlessly helped people out there. If I had money, I'll like to take them on a vacation. They'll go to anywhere of their choice and relax and enjoy themselves for at least a week, before coming back to steemit to continue the stressful hardwork. Specially to sir/ma @ steemcurator01, I'll like to get him a Lamborghini, as a way of saying "Thank you" for making steemit organized and for making sure that nobody is left out. Sir/ma, you're a very good leader and I'm proud of being under your canopy.
