In this world we are, looking at the global economy situation and inflation, we would all agree with me that to live comfortably, alternative source of income is highly acquired. Therefore to increase the standard of living, a skill or talent is expected to be required. Now let’s look at what skill and talent is…

Skill is the ability of someone to effectively use his/her knowledge to execute or perform a task either through training, learning or formal education.

Talent is a natural gift someone is born with or inherited that is given by God without acquiring it through formal education or learning which comes out of you jiffy and seamlessly without you being taught.

Which of them do you prefer and why?

In my own perspective, I preferred skill because being skilled enable one acquired more knowledge through practice or experience or help someone to develop a natural capability to become proactive in any areas of work. Someone can acquire a numerous skill and put them into use which in turns could increase the livelihood, whereas is very difficult to see someone who is multi-talented that put them into use. Even though, the two words are synonymous or use interwoven but in the real contest, skill is more superior.

Do you have a skill or do you have talent? Tell us about it

Yes, I am skilled through formal education. I am trained as medical health personnel who render health services to the people to ensure their needs are met and who provides all the basic requirements to meet the health standard in order to promote health in the country. Apart from being medical health personnel, I am also a fashion designer who is into sewing and designing. So, i don’t only depend on my job, I also have a side business.

In conclusion, from the analogy above, It could be inferred that getting a skill would be more appreciable than natural talent. Therefore I hereby recommend you to learn one or two skill to able to meet the economy of the present world than relying on talent.
