My Neighborhood Watch #69 - Reporting Events Around Us

The life events/activities that happened in my neighborhood are an Introduction to Marriage

My neighbor is married to a wife and blessed with two children, a boy and a girl.

Today is the 7th of October, 2024. My neighbor's daughter brought her future husband to her family members today for an official introduction.

The gathering is done according to the customs and traditions of our people which is the Eggon tribe.

When a man asks for a lady's hand in marriage, the first step is that the Lady will bring the man for an official introduction to both her nuclear and extended family and this was exactly what happened today.

She brought her future husband and he came along with his father, mother, and a few members of his family.

My neighbor's family welcomed their future Inlaw and they asked him about his intention towards their daughter he responded that he came to ask for their daughter's hand in marriage and also asked their daughter if she loved the man and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him and she responded yes.

The husband-to-be is also our tribe and he knows the tradition so well.

My neighbor's family members presented the necessary items that he needed to present to the girl's family before the girl's girl's family would accept him as their Inlaw.

Because the future husband is fully aware of the tradition of our people, he came along with some of the items that are demanded of him to give to his soon-to-be wife, the items that he brought are palm wine, beer, minerals, and some amount of money cash. His inlaws collected all the items from him and they accepted him as their legal son-in-law.

The gathering was so beautiful with beautiful memories to remember
