THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION SHOULD BE IMPROVED IN NIGERIA BY @emaidoreyin

Good everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I am always excited to be a member of this great platform called steemit. My write-up today is, the quality of education should be improved in Nigeria.

Moreover, as we all know that education is the first priority in the life of the youth which is the product of their success. But today, the government no longer show interest in education. This has made the standard of education fall drastically. When the educational system was handled by the missionaries, the standard of education was equivalent to what is obtainable elsewhere in other countries. Even as at now, all federal universities are on strike for 7 months and the government still feels reluctant to compromise with the requirement of the lecturers so that they could proceed with the resumption of the schools. The education system is not meant to be abandoned for months or else the intellectual capacity of the youth will be diminished and this has resulted to the product of half-baked graduate.

In addition, government should not only focus on the recruitment of teachers but they should check the quality of teachers from pre-school classes to higher institution by conducting examinations and screening them thoroughly in order to know the quality of teaching they impact on our youth.

Furthermore, the ministry of education should provide adequate infrastructure in our educational institution.
The laboratories, workshop and vocational centres should be equipped with adequate facilities or tools. In this case, the government needs the support of stakeholders, corporate bodies and commercial organisation to facilities to fund such projects, relevant textbooks teaching aids and internet facilities should be provided to make teaching easier and learning comfortable. Also, the motivation of the teachers must be involved to promote the quality of education which is the payment of a good salary rate which can encourage the teacher to impact more on our youth.

In my own opinion, government should show more interest in education in order to improve the knowledge of our youth because youth are the leaders of tomorrow. The educational curriculum should be upgraded and irrelevant topics should be discarded. Subjects that can help a student to be creative and innovative should be introduced to school. Also, teachers should be encouraged to improve on their teaching skills and academic qualification so as to meet up with the standard of education obtainable in the world.

CONCLUSION
Education is seen as the pillar of development in any nation and it determine the growth of a nation both structurally and economically. It also widen the knowledge of our youth. Therefore, our government should show more interest in education in order to be equivalent to the standard of other educational system all over the world.
