Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 19; "The Boarding schools effect on children"

Hello there, my fellow steemit friends. Its a pleasure writing on this contest. First I will be writing on the the boarding school effect on children.

First, let me enlighten us more on boarding school. Boarding school is just like a normal school but the difference is that student don't go home after the have finished in school. They live in the school compound far away from their home. The place student reside after school is the hostel and it is inside the school compound. Male students have their own hostel building and female students have their own hostel building too. So student are from the hostel to school everyday until the school term runs out.

A Brief Boarding School Experience
I personally haven't have the experience to live in a hostel before. I was a student of The Nigerian Christian Institute. In my school, hostels were available to students wanted to live in school. I was a day student. I was from house to school everyday. I had friends who were Boarders. Boarders is a name used to describe students living in school. Boarding life is not an easy one. Students before leaving to the hostel have to get enough provisions that will take them for a month incase they feel hungry. Boarding students usually eat three times in a day with different dishes served to them everyday. Some students complain of not being satisfied but everyone had to adjust because they were living in the school.

Boarding students usually have their reading time in the evening after school had closed. This was usually called Prep class. You can go to different classes to read, study and do assignments as well. They was a big bell that was used to alarm boarding students about the particular event they had. Either waking them up from sleep, informing them to go to their venue for eating or to inform them to start going for prep class in the evening, etc. Boarding students usually had leisure time in the weekends. Not all students were used to it, but as time went on they became used to it.

I would love to send one of my kids to a boarding school so as to experience a lot. Sometimes when students go to school from their homes and go back to their houses, they get distracted by a lot of things. They forget to read, study or do the assignments they were given. This made some students have low grades and poor results in school. But when boarding, students become studios, they are forced to read and study and as times goes on they begin to improve academically.

When children spend years in a boarding facilities, they become used to it and this makes it easy for them to cope at their different homes. Sometimes, children are always longing to go home and when they finally do after a school term has ended, they feel happy and it makes it easy to relate with them.

Boarding School helps a lot because students learn to groom themselves, become disciplined, and make them independent. So boarding experience really produces people who are able to cope with the reality of life.

Discipline is obtained in a boarding school can't be compared to that of children living at home. This is because boarding students don't get easily distracted as children living at home and this gives boarding students a bigger advantage in their academics. But children from house still study hard and as well do research in what they don't understand.
