Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 66: Overcoming Our Challenges?

in hive-147599 •  3 months ago
Introduction

I doubt if there is anyone who joins steemit without getting discouraged at one point or the other. Some of the people I have had time to interact with, even our big bosses, were tired at a point in their journeys and then decided to pick up at some point and then kept pressing on till they could stand strong.

One peculiar thing about challenges is that when you can face and overcome them, it becomes what I call "testimony." Because it is the strength and wisdom to scale through that gives that joy at the end. So facing challenges here is not a big deal, but an experience.

What is or has been your biggest challenge on Steemit?

Like every other person on steemit, getting support/rewards from the big wigs on steemit is my challenge. I have been on steemit for over a year now. I have never had a single support from SC 01 and 02. Sometimes, I ask myself if I've done anything wrong. Because it's not about posts, I have seen them supporting some posts that are not better than mine. Anyway, I'm optimistic and encouraged by the people who have shown me their support and that's what keeps me going. The day I'll get support from SC 01, "una go here." Smiles!

How do you think Steemit improve for it's users?

I think the platform should spread its support and rewards across to everyone. Especially those who have been consistent in making quality posts. Imagine that people make a post that is worth great support, but in the end, it pays $0.2.

It is usually worse if you don't burnsteem25 and even if you burnsteem25, the support is usually not encouraging.

I also think that our tron wallet should be returned. Not just that, it will be made in a way that would be easier for people to withdraw from it.

Despite the challenges, what keeps you motivated on Steemit?

Like I've mentioned, though I haven't got SC 01 and 02 support, the little I've received from others keeps me going. I'm grateful that community managers give a common ground for people to thrive.

Meanwhile, I sincerely appreciate the managers/administrators of @steem4Nigeria and many other communities, other Steem curators and meaningful individuals who have constantly given me great support. You are all the reasons why I have the strength to forge ahead on steemit because I had given up in the midst of it.

How can or does the community help with challenges?

The communities are helping people by giving their support, especially in giving booming votes. I never knew that they notice and appreciate good writers until I was proven so. It gives me so much joy to know that my little effort is noticed and appreciated by communities.

I was surprised one day when one of the admins of @steem4Nigeria reached out to me that I'd not been making posts for a long time. I was so excited, I had to explain my reasons to him, which one of them was that I was down in health, which necessitated me to power down some of my Steem Power to take care of my health and so, I couldn't write for sometimes. I don't know about others, but I have received support from some communities I have been engaged in.

How can we come together to solve problems?

I think once in a while, the platform should seek the opinion of users to know how they can better improve or give support to them. For instance, creating a specific community for complaints and opinions would be a great idea in order to find out the challenges of users and how to solve or take care of the challenges.

Steemt meetup in my city last year.

Another way we can come together to resolve problems is by organising meetings. Either physically, as would be done on 30th November or virtually, at least once in a while or periodically to discuss some challenges users are facing and also proffer solutions to how the challenges can be taken care of.
