Warmest greetings to everyone in this part of my country. I welcome you all to my blog and hope you enjoy reading my post. I am always excited to participate in this contest every week as it helps us learn new things about different animals, today this contest talks about drawing of a large mammal called elephant and I would like to thank @benton3 for organizing such a wonderful contest every week.

Elephants one of the biggest and largest animals in the world. They have four legs which resemble huge pillars. They have ears shaped and big as a fan and it allows them to hear from a distance. Elephants are special animals which have trunk and in addition have a short tail. The males of elephants only have two teeth which are quite long and are known as tusk.

This huge and large animals are herbivorous and usually feed on leaves, plants and grains and more. They have different species of elephants but most of them are grey in colour and are usually found in Asia and Africa. Elephants have the longest lifespan of any mammals as they live up to 5-80 years. Elephants are quite obedient animals, the females live in groups while the male prefer living on its own, humans also use this large animal for transport and entertainment purposes.

IMPORTANCE OF ELEPHANTS IN THE ENVIRONMENT

In the world today elephants are of great importance to the earth and mankind and as such we must try to protect and keep them so as not to cause an imbalance in nature.

One of the importance of elephants in the world is that they are tourism magnet for mankind and they also play a great role in maintaining the ecosystem. Another aspect elephants affect the environment is by preserving wildlife. During dry season Elephants dig for water with their tusk this helps them to survive during the hot weather and dry environment and other animals also benefit from it. Do you know that elephant dung is beneficial. The dung of elephants contains seeds of plants which they have eaten and this in turn helps new grasses, trees, and even bushes grow better and faster. Now you know the benefit of elephants to the environment and nature let's dive into the drawing of it.

MY DRAWING OF AN ELEPHANT

IMG_20240421_093209.jpg

When I was a kid I would always draw a rough sketch of an elephant and it would be ugly but as I grew up and developed my drawing skills I can now draw it easily. Here are the few steps I took in creating this drawing. But first before I start get all your materials ready such as

• Pencil
• Eraser
• Sharpener

STEP 1

Draw the elephants head including the eyes, tusk, trunk and the ear. Ensure to make the trunk round and curve.

STEP 2

The elephant is walking, so I started drawing the two front legs and completing the ear.

STEP 3

Steps three involves me getting the body to be in motion with the legs.

STEP 4

After drawing the body I then drew the back two legs so as to show that the elephant is moving.

STEP 5

Of course an elephant would not be complete without it's tail so I went ahead to draw it's tail as shown below.

STEP 6

After drawing the elephant I used my pencil to thicken the lines to make it bold and clear, then I wrote my username

As seen above this is my final result and I hope you learnt how to draw an elephant through my post.
