Blissful time to you all my friends. You are welcome to this blog for the day as we discuss an important part of human existence. A lot of things are quite inevitable and since we can't avoid or change them, we rather learn how to handle or navigate them when they come.
Conflict is part of life, has existed, exists, and will continue to exist. Since one does not prepare for battle right on the battlefield but before a battle begins, it is beneficial to learn how to navigate through conflicts. We learn from shared experiences hence I will be making my contributions to the topic: "Navigating Through Conflicts".
Conflict implies being at odds or in disagreement with or incompatible at the moment. It could be a heated argument between two or more people which could come up due to differences in understandings.
How Do You Manage To Stay Calm During An Argument? |
---|
It is usually difficult to stay calm during an argument while one is yet to mature but at maturity, we discover that we learn that in the course of everyone arguing and raising voices, especially over an important matter, no sense is made rather everyone fights to be heard and this is meaningless.
Therefore, I deploy listening and smiling to stay calm in an argument. Listening and smiling is all I do waiting for you to get done so I will make my view known and in several cases, we arrive at a consensus.
Why Is It Important To Listen Carefully During A Disagreement? |
---|
Quiet and careful listening offers an adequate apprehension of the opponent's perspective. Most individuals are good in reciprocating listening ears hence when listened to, vital points will be assimilated which would have been missed supposing argument or disagreement is engaged.
There would be no room for conflicts if we resort to careful listening. My mum, in blessed memory, is one type of person who would never engage in argument at any juncture. She wouldn't utter a word but listen, allowing you all the time to make your points. In most cases she would let you do it the way you seem and in the case of failure, her arms are always wide open to welcome, and she won't hold back her opinions.
Supposing both parties had dialogued over her opinion, it would have resulted in an incorporated opinion that would generate beneficial results.
How Does Understanding Someone Else's Feelings Help In Resolving Conflicts? |
---|
Acknowledging the feelings of another person offers them a sense of free self-expression, even children feel pleased when their feelings are understood.
Understanding someone else's feelings by carefully listening as they express themselves is paramount for conflict resolution. By carefully listening we get to understand what other's point of view is as well as its importance as they express themselves. This is being humane.
What Can We Do To Control Our Anger During An Argument? |
---|
There certainly should be one or two things that ease one off, these should be applied by any means in the course of an argument. It is extremely helpful in keeping one calm. For people like me, it's listening and smiling.
It is noteworthy that vexation does not in any way solve any problem rather its ultimate result is nothing more than a futile end.
Just as mentioned earlier, smiling helps calm me down and makes me appear less angry or serious. What I want to achieve is stability and quiet audacity.
The bottom line is that it is very possible to avoid conflicts only if the people involved would calm down and carefully listen to each other's standpoint for an adequate understanding.
