There are several starting of the financial year in Bengal. Some follow follow the conventional April to March of the English Calender. Some follows Bengali calendar year Baishak to Chaitra. The last one starts from Akhya Tritiya. On this day business people used get their deities consecrated to worship year long at the business premises and the ledger are also worshipped. Normally they used to go to the famous temples with their deities and ledger. Some also get it done at business premises by the purohit. The deities are Laxmi who is the goddess of wealth and Ganesh is the god for accounts. They also invite their customer to open their account in the ledger with a token purchase. The customers are given sweets and gifts like calendar or something else.

Actually this is conducted by the local club every year. They normally organising it after covid 19 as Sitala Mata is considered as the godess of removing and abolishing of dieseses and viruses. There is a ritual of conducting folk musical event by group of band who sing and make the godess awake and do the goodness of her devotees. Apart fro the priest they also Worship thier dieti according to a particular way. The club also provides prasad to all devotees. One interesting lady brought her Gopal ( Baby Krishna) to show Sitala Puja.

Panchanan is the dieti in which both Lord Shiva and Devi Chandi Mata are worshipped. The annual puja is organised by the trustees every year. The temple is about 350 years old and very mindful. Particularly it is worshiped by the priests for four generations. The premises was donated to the temple trust by local Halder family. Our street name is also after the name of Panchanan Tala Lane. The temple has been renovated several times and the current clay idol was fabricated by Ganta Karma Paul in 1950.
