My Neighborhood Watch #2

Warm greetings to all my steemit friends. It is yet another opportunity to relate and bring you some latest happenings in my neighborhood (Mayo Dassa, Jalingo, Taraba state, Nigeria)

As long as we live, one of the things we would never stop coming across is news. Due to our interaction with the environment, things happen daily. Some of these happenings can be usual while some are unusual, and that's the more reason why we sometimes get irritated with the environment and sometimes fall in love with things around us. With that being said, follow me to hear the latest happenings in my neighborhood today.

Just when I was still enjoying the comfort of my bed, I heard some loud and unusual noises coming from a compound that is about 10 miles from my house. It sounded like two women were fighting, but within myself, I doubted it. I felt it was too early for someone to have misunderstood another person because, at that time, most people Were still in bed.

To my surprise, the noise was getting louder and more intense. At that moment I got disturbed because that was the moment I enjoy sleep the most but all my effort to enjoy the bed was abortive due to the noise. At that moment, I kept wondering what was happening in my neighborhood. As such, I decided to step out in other to verify for myself.

On reaching there, I found out that it was 2 women fighting over children. The whole scenario was unbelievable to me because I could not even imagine people fighting over children in this generation. What even surprised me the most was what transpired between the 2 kids before their mothers got involved.

From what I heard, the 2 kids were playing yesterday evening. In the process, one of them fell and get wounded. As a child will always do, he stood up and started crying until he reached where his mother was. On reaching there, he explained to his mum that the other kids pushed him. Out of anger, the mum stood up and went straight to meet the mother of the other kid. Unfortunately, the woman was not home that evening.

Just when people were thinking that the whole issue is over, the women went there today morning. On reaching there, she began insulting the woman and her whole family. Most people were confused at first because they never know the reason behind the woman's insult. Nevertheless, they try to calm her down but all efforts failed.

As things will sometimes happen, the other women got upset and she used wood to hit her. Unfortunately, she fell on the floor and was bleeding badly. She was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital before I left the place. Till now, I'm yet to hear any news about her. Is she alive or dead? I can't say. If she never went to someone's house to fight, all these couldn't have happened to her. Moreover, what is the essence of fighting over what is not worth it?

The children you fight over today will hold each other's hands to play tomorrow. So, can we actually stop them from relating? Even if we can, what is the essence of doing that? Remember, no one can live alone, and you can not be there for your child all the time. So why fight other people who tomorrow might be of importance to their life? We all need to think twice before we go about fighting over kids.
