So, as I mentioned in my achievement 1 post, I enjoy designing, but more than that, I am passionate about it. So today I'd like to show you how I created a catches thumbnail from scratch. Trust me, no prior experience is required. You can simply follow my steps to make a thumbnail for yourself, as well as how to design any thumbnail for your content, whether it's YouTube, Steemit, or anything other thumbnail-related.
You just finished creating a nice content on Steemit, but because you put all of your effort into creating only the content itself, you forgot about the packaging of your content, which is a thumbnail that will make your content attractive, and unfortunately, your content did not receive many upvotes or comments because you did not have a thumbnail, which would be so bad and heartbreaking. So, whether you're creating a contest, Diary game, or Content for Steemit, you'll need an appealing or original thumbnail for your content.
I describe a thumbnail as a picture that can be used to identify a piece of content or a file. In this regard, thumbnails on the Steemit platform help us identify the most engaging material. How does one produce a thumbnail? You can make a thumbnail using applications like as Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, and others. What constitutes an excellent thumbnail. There are some criteria for a good thumbnail. First and foremost, a thumbnail should generate curiosity and satisfy it. The following is a list of things that make a thumbnail stand out from other thumbnails' contents.
To capture attention in a thumbnail, make it bright and contrasting. Using contrasting and vibrance colours draws the viewer's attention to your material. Remember, Steemit has a lot of content, and only a nice thumbnail will help yours stand out from the throng. Applying brightness and contrast to your thumbnail will make your post the easiest option to click on.
High-quality photos are essential. Having high-quality photographs ensures that your thumbnail looks pleasant and professional, that it is useful and clean, and that it can interact with your audience. The best option to get high-quality photographs for your thumbnail is to use your phone or camera to capture an HD image rather than a lower-quality image.
Using close-ups of faces expressing intense emotion will help you make personal and emotional connections with your viewers, and it is an excellent method for creating a good and appealing thumbnail. Earlier today, I applied a close-up image of my face to assist my thumbnail stand out. Consider if you utilise an image of a person expressing fury. It would pique your audience's interest since they would want to know what was causing him to frown.
This is related to the text you use on your thumbnails; the idea is always to use as little text as possible to convey the message of the content without cluttering the thumbnail or distracting your readers. The thumbnail below uses a minimum of words while yet allowing the audience to connect with the material.
Most of the time, this is extremely underappreciated, but I'd like to point out that high-quality visuals are a unique way to express to the audience what's going on without using words. Implementing this would help your thumbnail stand out among thousands of thumbnails. Here is the graphic stuff I utilised for my thumbnail.
In conclusion, when designing a thumbnail for your Steemit or other contents, you need take into account how it looks on mobile devices because 45% of visitors use laptop to login to the Steemit platform, so you need to stand out, and one of my favourite ways to do so is to utilise a Thumbnail check either mockup or website.
