"The memories we make today, will be the treasure of tomorrow"

My Dear Diary📖🌹
An old man once said to me, "Make today so AWESOME that YESTERDAY gets jealous." This quote came into my life on the 30th of Nov. 2024. Do you want to know what happened on that day? I'll tell you, it was the very first day I attended a STEEMIT NATIONAL MEETUP here in Nigeria, and it was a marvelous one. I know you are eager to hear what happened and how it's gone; I'll tell you, but first, let me tell you how I prepared for the meetup.

MY MORNING AND AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES
The Preparation

So I woke up today at 5:00a.m, I had to wake up that early, knowing very well that today was going to be a great and adventurous day. After I finished my morning duties and routine, I was about to prepare to leave for work when it suddenly crossed my mind that I should also prepare my outfit for the meetup, I wanted to look good at least, since the meetup is being hosted in my state, also different people from different countries and other states are coming so I can't just wear what I like but with what I can look presentable, all the other stuff was in place except shoes which I didn't have, I started feeling disappointed.

I didn't know what to do or what to wear again to the meetup, but I suddenly remembered that I could ask my friend to help me with the shoes for the day alone after I had called him and explained the situation to him, he agrees to give me the shoes, I was so happy and relieved. Do you have such a best friend? If you asked me, I would boldly say yes. 😊

After I collected the pair of shoes from him I needed to buy a new rope since the one he had didn't please me, so I then went to the nearest shoe store to get it and I thanked God the man had it because I wouldn't have enough time to check on another store for it, I also bought a new sock from there.

However, my time was going; it was about 8:16 a.m., so I needed to get to work to avoid being late, but upon that, my boss came before me. Since the meetup was starting at 2:00 p.m., there were some times for me to do some work at the shop before going to the meetup. This was some work I had done.

I was busy with the work I was doing. Meanwhile, it was already past 1 o'clock in 27 minutes; immediately, I finished the last person, locked up the shop, and went to get my hair done in preparation for the meetup. Do I look good?

Before I could finish barbing my hair and every preparation I had to make, it was already 4:00 p.m., so I left for the meetup I was waiting for.

MY EVENING ACTIVITIES
The Meetup

I arrived at the meetup venue at 4:5 p.m; the meetup party was hosted in UBA MINI STADIUM, here in Uyo, AKWA IBOM STATE NIGERIA. As I said, the party was a marvelous one, it was truly one of a kind. The program of the meetup event goes this way;

  • The first thing was the introduction, where every participant and attendance was allowed to introduce themself by their Steemian name.
IMG-20241202-WA0045~2.jpg
  • Followed by calling and introducing the Steem for Nigerian community moderators into the high table; as I can recall, this was the number of moderators that attended the meetup.
    @xkool24
    @sahmie
    @ngoenyi
    @goodybest
    @eliany
    @ruthjoe
    @okere-blessing
    @bonaventure24

  • Then the speech; although it wasn't all the moderators that gave a speech, what we heard from @ngoenyi, who gave the first speech, followed by @goodybest, then @xkool24, was enough to understand the reason why we were here and the reason for Steemit. The first speaker(@ngoenyi) emphasized the need to become a Steemian, the benefits, functions, reason, and advantages we gain and would gain if we join the Steem families; she also allowed the audience to discuss why they choose Steemit to be sincere, the answers were encouraging.

The second speaker(@goodybest) discussed the need to engage in the platform and be active, she told us why we should try our best to have an active post on the platform, as the need and benefits of engaging in other people's posts, at this point all my attention was in her tongue because the benefits I heard amazed me. The speech was rounded up by the third speaker(@xkool24).

  • The next activity was a question and answer section, where the audience was given a chance to ask any questions about the Steemit platform that troubles them, different people asked their questions according to how it troubles them, and others benefited from the answers they were given.

  • Then we moved to the gift prank section, which was sponsored by @bossj23; I was asked to carry the box full of gifts with one other Steemian friend to the front for distribution. As I can recall the first Steemian to receive the prank gift was @steemnurse01, and her gift was a set of jewelry that contained a gold wristwatch and chain. The second person was @ngoenyi and her gift was a beautiful portrait of artwork, and so on. As the distribution of the gift was going on, the distribution of food was also going on.

  • We moved to the next activity which was taking photos, may it be a group like this ;

Or with few people like this;

Either selfie or back pose:

It was so beautiful, and I was grateful to have the opportunity to take a picture with @xkool24, @ngoenyi, @goodybes, @sahmie, and others It was a dream come true.

  • The last activity was dancing and jubilation, it was at this stage that I knew that the saying; "What a WOMAN can do a MAN can do also", is so true because of what @alli001 performed with his waste, well I wasn't shocked to see that because it wasn't the first nor the second time.

Although I left the event at 6:55 p.m., it wasn't the end of the event, but I needed to back to the workshop as I was instructed by my boss. Although I knew I would meet new faces and my moderators from different countries and states which would make this meetup so special to me, I didn't know I would enjoy the meetup in such a way I did. I want to thank all my moderators who hosted this event and made it a successful one as it brings all Nigerian steemians together as one family.

However, I want to thank all the other Nigerian moderators who honored their invitation and flew from their destination down here to take part in this event. I also expressed my gratitude to my fellow Steemian friend who attended the event no matter what;
@allison, @kidi40, @emishael60,
@basil20, @preshy001, @bonaventure24,
@ubikool, @imohmitch, @nsijoro.
And many others, it was my greatest opportunity to meet you all.

After I left the event ground, I went straight to the shop, but it was long before my time to close ticks, so I went back home. I wasn't hungry, since I had already eaten from the event I didn't feel like eating again but I just wanted to taste the soup, I wasn't able to resist it anymore after I had the taste so I had to eat, but not much. I followed my normal bedtime routine after I finished eating my dinner and then went to bed.

_GOOD NIGHT DEAR STEEMIAN, I LOVE YOU ALL❣️
